Maybe Naked Boys Singing will get its own theatre now? Erm... either way, I hope they get a couple of shows to fill those spots soon.

I don't think 2 shows warrent the use of the word "galore".

Two out of six, technically. Musical of Musicals and Naked Boys Singing share a theatre.

My wife got suckered by the title " A Mother, A Daughter & A Gun"
Best thing about it was George Irving & the Gun

A Mother, A Daughter and A Gun announced it was closing last Thursday.

Poor Dodgers just can't catch a break.

A week and a half ago. Opened to awful reviews. I love Olympia. I hope she comes back soon and does another show!

Sad to see The Musical of Musicals go, it was such a wonderful show. Very charming and witty. BUt, from what I've heard it's having a strong afterlife in L.A. and in other regions.

You know, I loved Olympia until I listened to her biography. Maybe it was just the way I took it and the fact that she read it herself but half the book felt like name dropping to me. (That and the fact that her southern accent annoyed me in Steel Magnolias...lol)I am sorry the show got such poor reviews. She is a very talented woman.

Two closings for a complex playing six shows isn't good news, especially when "A Mother" is closing so soon after opening. The bigger problem is that "Trailer Park" isn't selling well at all and neither is "Drumstruck". With "Naked Boys" performing only a few times a week, the "Altar Boyz" could find themselves very lonely pretty soon.

Altar Boyz isn't doing well either. We need the original cast back!

Scott Porter is still there. I've heard a couple things about Tyler Maynard. Unfortunately, Andy Karl and David Josefsberg already have other things lined up. Ryan Duncan only just left last month, but I have no idea what he's got going next.
Either way. I enjoy the new cast members that I've seen (especially Danny - I love his Mark)..

Closing notices are always sad. Dodger Stages is such a great facility, too. If you haven't seen a show there, go!

I'm not surprised A Mother, A Daughter, and A Gun is closing... maybe just that its closing so soon, but I am a little more shocked that Musical of Musicals is shutting down.
On a better note, Drumstruck seems like its doing well! As does Trailer Park (despite a few less than enthusiastic reviews, it really is a fantastic show)!

Dodger Stages is obviously cursed...Their first tenant pulled the plug a week before previews were supposed to start and they haven't had a hit since!

It is very expensive to produce in - premium salaries 10% above the regular off-Broadway rates. Makes it hard for marginal shows to survive there. Also, many people haven't discovered the venue yet...it has had too many flops to establish itself. Needs a major long-running hit. Also needs a more imaginative and amenable management - the good people at Dodgers were all fired.

Actually I think Mandy Patinkin was the first tenant at Dodger Stages, no? Bare never made it, I know. It took a long time to fill stage 1-Trailer Park is its first tenant. Musicals has had quite a long run - I'm not surprised at its closing. I'm wondering what constitutes a real off broadway "hit", because Altar Boyz and Drumstruck are real crowd pleasers, and have been running several months now. I hope Trailer Park, another crowd pleaser, will pick up on business soon.

I read in an interview with Shuler Hensley and he said Trailer Park is only a 6-month limited run. Anyone else hear that?
