Hey all. Does anyone know if a non-musical version of Clue exists for licensing? If so, where might I find this version? Are there any free copies online?

My school is looking to do it as a play, not a musical. We are having the hardest time trying to find a script.

There's an adaptation of the film that some company in SF is doing, but someone else on another board that's looking for a straight play version of "Clue" checked and seemed to feel that the SF version is unauthorized. But I'm putting in the link anyway.

I'm with the other poster, though. I don't think a legal straight play version exists and think you might be better off just choosing something else.

I wish that they would adapt the movie for the stage. Clue has to be one of the most underrated comedies of all time.

Madeline Kahn was sheer brilliance.

Just FYI in case anyone else was thinking about it, I saw Clue: The Musical last summer. It was amusing only from a "this is terrible" standpoint. The music is impossible to sing so everyone sounds bad.

Good luck with the play version though!

A caveat: that company in SF is a pirate company...they don't pay for the rights and if you want to do their show, they ask that you don't credit them anywhere.
