The show was amazing. I fell in love from the 1st note of the score. Maureen Mcgovern as Marmee was amazing- during Days of Plenty I was crying hysterically. Susan Spencer was Jo, she was firey, strong and amazing. Autumn Hurlbert was an amazing Beth, she was my favorite beside Jo, she was heartbreaking as the tragic sister Beth. Renee Brna was an amazing Meg, she was beautiful and romantic- all the things Meg should be. Gwen Hollander was an amazing Amy, she went from little girl to grown woman so quickly and effortlessly. Micheal Minarik as John was strong and intellegent. Stephen Patterson as Laurie was amazing- I loved "Take A Chance On Me"- he was fanatasic. My best friend, Neva Rae Powers was amazing as Aunt March and Miss Kirk. Robert Stattel was awesome as Mr. Lawurence, he had a strong sense of realism. Andrew Varela was an awesome Professor, he had me loving his character the whole show and had amazing songs, he was fantastic.
Post Show---
I ran down the stairs and waited near the stage door- the lone and watched as people exited the theater when all of the sudden Renee popped out and went "Omg, we have someone out here!" and She brought out Susan, Autumn, Stephen and Andrew who all were so sweet and signed my playbill and took pictures with me. I talked to Autumn for like 10 to 20 mins about my love of Beth and I asked her for a hug and she hugged me. She and the girls all left so did Andrew & Stephen. Neva Rae came out and met her British friends who tried to take a picture of me with her but failed. Attempted Myspace style- no such luck- finally a crew guy helped me out. Then she invited all of us- including me, inside and gave us a tour. She showed us the stage (I was center stage of the Merriam Theater- I proclaimed- this is my dream!")- she showed us the set including Beth's piano and the Cape Cod boat, which I photographed. Then showed us her and Gwen's dressing room and I took some shots of the costumes then was whisked down and taken to the door where my aunt was going nuts due to the fact- I didnt tell her where I went. But it was AMAZING, if you get a chance- go see LITTLE WOMEN whenever it comes to you're town.

Very nice!
I saw your pic of Andrew Varela and thought, "When did Michael get so hairy?" And then I realized.

I heard a lot of negative things about this show (it being boring, for the most part), so I wasn't overly excited about seeing this, but, hey, it was a night at the theater. I actually liked the show. Although some parts were slow, it wasn't as boring as I thought it was going to be. It's a really good mother/daughter show; there weren't a lot of guys there.
I also saw Susan Spencer as Jo. I only saw a tiny tiny clip of Kate Fisher, so I can't really compare the two, but after I saw Susan, I didn't regret not seeing Kate. Susan Spencer actually reminded me a lot of Sutton, but she isn't a carbon copy of her.

I loved Susan, and I agree she was alot like Sutton, wasnt she the U/S for Sutton on Broadway or was that Kate?
I loved Stephen, Autumn and Andrew so much and Renee was great too.

Posted: 5/7/06 at 11:37amThey were so exicted when I was out there. They were all in love with my camera. Andrew said. "Is that a camcorder and a camera?" and I said "Yes" and He was so amazed. And I talked to Autumn for like 20 mins about how I was so upset she died, she said "Its a killer 8 times a week- literally."

If you had to sum things up in one word what would it be?
My guess would be amazing.

No, I'd sum it up as- special.
It was a special show, and it had such a special message of togetherness between a mother and her daughters. Also the special experience of being backstage. So yes- as amazing as it was- it was special.

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that. Glad you liked it, though. I did.
