They developed two different versions of the same story and were not completely happy with either version, so they stripped them down and made a new show with each version as an act.

Are there any other shows like this?

Certainly, there are many shows that have gone through such huge modifications during the development that they become completely different shows. It would be a very interesting exercise to see other shows like this...at least as an academic exercise...

Was The Stratford Festival reading my mind?

They just announced they will be performing two different versions of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in the same season. So, you could potential watch them in the same day one after another. They will be doing the same thing with another show next season.

They did Colette Collage at MUFTI about a year and a half ago with Christine Andreas in the title role. She was wonderful, but the show was not well-crafted.

For such a provocative woman, Colette Collage is a dreary journey through what appears to be a perfect normal author's life. There are some nice ballads, and perhaps Andreas should add a few of them to her cabaret act, but after all the rewrites they could translate to the audience what made this person interesting.

Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!
