Hey guys!!!
Listen, I'm off to college in a year and right now i'm on the college search. I'm aiming for and Theatre Arts major. I would love to stay close to boston or New York City. Here are some of my ideas so far (i've starred the ones im rly interested in) Boston College*, Boston University*, Emerson College*, New York University, Drew, Sarah Lawrence, and Vassar. Can anyone tell me anything really cool about any of these schools or anything against them? If you have any other suggestions around that area that would be great too ( just as long as they have a good theatre Program) my GPA is roughly a 3.8 and i do prefer a campus if that is ne help wutsoever! thanks! - Sarah

It took me a while to realize this, but being near NYC is not everything. You will get there someday.

Vassar may have a good program & a beautiful campus, but Poughkeepsie is not a fun town to go to school in. If you don't have a car, there's little you can walk to off campus.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

If you want to be in the Boston area, check out Salem State. They have an outstanding program. Never heardof them? Don't let that stop you. The acting training there is topnotch.
