Hey, guys. I'm auditioning for college and I'm sending a video audition as it's an international college I won't be able to attend to in time for the audition, though I have already visited it in the past.
I'm having trouble with the dance audition growing up in a country where musical theatre is basically non-existent, they ask for this "a classical plié, a classical tendu, a single or double pirouette right and left side, a time step and a one-minute dance combination of the musical theatre genre" I'm perfecly okat with everything as I have been taking tap and ballet for yesrs but the "dance combination of the musical theatre genre" is getting to me, I was planned on doing a tap routine but I'm not sure if that would be what they mean, we don't have anything we call "musical theatre genre" where I live so I kinda need your help for this.
Is the tap routine a good call or not at all? And what exactly do they mean with "musical theatre genre" as I can't really thing of a specific genre even though I watch a lot of them? Thank you in advance!
have you tried to contact them and ask? I would think, based on what you told us, you have a very legitimate question. I'm sure you'd be able to chat with someone there.
