I saw this play when it was at Vineyard like 5 years ago. I thought it was sweet, but nothing extraordinary. Interestingly, it was directed by Susan Stroman, in what was undoubtedly her most small-scale production in recent memory. Glad to see that Domingo himself will be at the helm for the TV version.
I think the play's premise is loose and flexible enough to translate well to TV, but my concerns is: plays and films that center around dementia have a tendency to become repetitive, both in terms of their internal structure, and in terms of how these stories are similar to each other. Seems like putting it in the form of a series will amplify that even more. But I'll withhold judgement until we see it!
For those in the Bay Area, NCTC will be mounting the play this coming spring: https://www.nctcsf.org/21-22-Season/Dot

It sounds like the declining matriarch is the center piece to a lot of different stories, so it could work. Wow, his resume is certainly impressive!
