I was just looking on their site and clicked on the "merchandise" link and it had a link to the OBC of Color Purple - it said "ships in January 2006"
Sorry if this was posted before - just got me excited.

www.talkinbroadway.com in their upcoming releases say the EMI/Angel is recording Color Purple. I doubt its been recorded yet, since they have yet to fully tweak & open the show. but pre-production on the CD can be going on right now so the turnaround can be quick.

I'm sure the entire OBC of Color Purple will be on the recording.
In a recent article on cast recordings, I read that there was a big bidding war to record this show.
