I'm curious as to how this worked...how was there enough room and I doubt the sets were anything liked what they used on Broadway...and the orchestra...prerecorded?

I'm confused as well...anyone care to explain? I thought maybe it was a taped recording, but the way it's described, it seems like people performed live on the plane...

I assumed it was a video until they were talking about stage lights and such. Interesting. Next time I see Oprah I'll ask her how it worked.

I hope they used the inflight PA system. I would hate to think the cast strained their vocal chords singing unmiked in a 737.

It's also very important to drink plenty of water, move around a bit and -- of course -- moisterize to prevent dehydration and deep vein thrombosis. Equity better be on top of these very important safety issues.

I just wonder if the captain was rocking out to "Miss Celie's Pants"?

i doubt it was the whole show, but then again, how long is the flight? How does the cast have time to do this. Seems odd for them to get up there and perform and then just sit down and prepare for a landing haha.

I live near Chicago, so they had it on the local news. I didn't get to see the whole story, but it looked like a few cast members, not in costume, were sorta walking down the aisles singing. They didn't appear to be wearing microphones. This was just a promotion for when Color Purple comes to Chicago.

Sounds to me like they performed a number or two. Not the whole show.

But sounds to me like nobody really has the detail.
