On a saturday. What time do you have to get there? I went one day and i got in line at 9:45 and didn't get one. So what time would be a good time to get in.
If you want to be at the night show then 5, for the matinee then 6. You could get there a little later and possibly get a ticket but it would be on the left or right side and I was in the center so I don't know but it looked as if you missed a lot.
Wow it has gotten that ridiculous? I went like last february and i got in line at like 9:45 and got great seats.
You now have to get there like 4 hours in advance?
It HAS gotten that ridiculous! I tried to rush Saturday two weeks ago, arrived at 7:45am and didn't get a ticket....don't get there later than 7! It's tourist season!

Since when do tourists know about rush? I've lived in NY my whole life and never knew about rush until two years ago.

I've been lucky. I've gone two different Sundays, for the matinee, got in line around 7:45, 8ish, and still got great seats. It's weeeeelllll worth the wait. Bring some coffee, bring some books, bring a chair and some water, you'll be fine!

sorry if this was discussed in another thread - didn't see anything more recent in my search.
Thanks!

wow, rush is gettin ridiculous! then i was reading about JERSEY BOYS how people get there at like 5 in the morning! wtf
i cant even imagine how the holidays will be like...
I saw the show on Friday and asked one of the rush people what time he got to the box office, and he said around 8.
I was lucky - I got comps!
The Color Purple Rush is much less crowded now. I arrived at 7:30am two Fridays ago, was first in line, and by the time the doors opened at 10am there were only 5 people in line behind me. Although, I should add that it rained that day and that may have affected the number of people willing to get up early to wait in line.
For LaChanze's last show on the 5th at 3pm, the box office opens at noon. How early do you think I should get there for student rush?
make sure you remember than on november 5th there is a 2pm matinee performance and a 7:30pm evening performance...
this time of year, a lot of broadway shows change their schedules...
EARLY. not sure exactly what time but i'd say maybe...7am?
Ahhh... Well, for her last day, I'll definatly try! Thank you! Oh, and just to make sure, do they always have rush tickets available because I have gone to certain theaters early and they have suddenly decided not to sell those tickets to students on the nights they claim they will.
Yes they sell them for every show whent the box office opens.
Some friends of mine are doing the Color Purple rush tomorrow morning (Tuesday). Based on courtnyj's comment, I was thinking my friends should be okay showing up at 9. But do you guys think LaChanze's departure from the show ten days from now will have much of an effect on the rush line? If so, I may advise them to go around 8. Thoughts? Comments?
It may or may not have an effect...but I'd think you'd be ok to get there around 8:30 or 9, especially since it's a Tuesday. If it were a Thursday or Friday, I'd say earlier...
Good luck!
