Color Purple Rush Tips

I apologize if this is a duplicate thread ... I did a message board search and couldn't find anything.

I'm heading to the city next week and am hoping to pick up tickets to see the Color Purple on Wednesday or Thursday (figuring weekdays are best - especially w/ 2 shows on Wed.)

Does anyone have any advice on when to show up at the Broadway theater for the best chance of getting tickets (or where the rush seats are)? Any advice or information would certainly be appreciated.

The seats are in the first two rows of the orchestra. $26.25. If you got there at 10, when the Box Office openes, you would most likely get tix. But I'd recomend getting there at 9 just to make sure.

Okay when I got rush tix I was there around two hours early and there were already people on line, not a lot, but enough. You want to get there as early as you can. At least an hour, if not more. I got second row center orchestra seats, and it was fantastic, you'll love the show. Just remember, they only take cash when you buy the tickets, and it's only two tickets per person. People will get mad at you and possibly try to shoot you if you bring extra people into the line because they have been waiting a long time and will kill for the rush tickets, so I would avoid that. You will meet fantastic people in the rush ticket line too, believe me. I met this one lady that told me to call her grandma. It was quite a day....

For a saturday matinee, I got on line at 8:30 and there was one person ahead of me... But keep in mind this was during previews so it might have changed. Also, I believe second row is better than first row! Enjoy the show, it is fantastic!
