Has anyone seen the touring production of the Color Purple? I was thinking of seeing it next week, but I wanted to know how the cast was first.

I saw it when the tour was in Chicago. Which was a long time ago. But nonetheless it was truly a GREAT show. You will not be disappointed.

Just left Dallas a few weeks ago. It is fabulous. You will not be disappointed.

This is one of my all-time favorite shows.
I saw it on Broadway seven times.
I haven't seen the tour, but I'm sure it is just as fabulous as the Broadway production was.
The score is incredible, and the choreography is wonderful. It's a very moving story, told with care.
Definitely check it out.

I saw it in LA and it was great. If Jeannette Bayardelle is still Celie you are in for a fantastic treat!

Saw it in St. Louis a few weeks ago, and it was terrific! Definitely check it out.
"Everytime you step on that stage it is somebody's first Broadway show and somebody's last Broadway show. Make it count."

I wish it was coming back to IL soon. But alas... that is not going to happen any time soon.

If Jeanette Bayardelle is still in the show, then my advice to you is beg, cheat, lie, and steal to get tickets. She is beyond phenomenal.
If not, then...eh. The show itself is just okay, imo, but Jeanette is something to behold.
