To anyone else who happens to be watching:
It seemed in the first segment thatt Oprah is taking credit for the whole idea of a Color Purple musical. Then the cast performed and she changed her tune.
Great performances....should really buy a ticket.

the performance was amazing i agree.. i dont think oprah tried to take credit for the idea of the musical..i think the color purple is just something close to her heart since it started her career.

it was AMAZING.
after it aired on tv...i rewinded my tape and watched it AGAIN. it is SO GOOD. i was crying my EYES OUT.
just, oh gah, i cannot wait to see this show. even BEYONCE was taken aback! haha

That show is going to be an unbelievable success. I mean, how can it not be with Oprah backing it? But it looks like it will be really good, too, so that's exciting. When does it open?
I agree, the performances were really amazing, and I cried a little during "The Color Purple," but that was partly because the performers and Oprah were crying.

Wow, what a performance...the last song "Color Purple" gave me goose bumps. I'm watching this for sure. And it's close to my office.....(logs off and runs to Broadway Theater box office)
