Did anyone see this play while it was in New York? I had never heard of it until I got cast in it this summer. A wonderful, beautiful, moving experience. Our version was adapted into one act so I'd love to hear about the "original" production. Also, if anyone here has also seen the new production of "The Columbine Project" as well I would love to hear about the differences.

I saw it and really enjoyed it. Well, I don't know if enjoyed is the word so much as...appreciated. They took a really cliched setup -- the high school cliques -- that's usually used for comedies and turned it into something truly horrifying on stage.

I can't remember all the details, but the first act was more about the cliques--the two killers were just nameless outcasts--that had nothing to do with Columbine. Then it ended with a long musical pantomime at the end of the act, and at the second act, it had morphed into the Columbine story.

Anna Camp and Bobby Steggert were among the cast.

Actually, there is a new version in which the playwrights have added a coda of sorts. My college will be premiering the show, so its very exciting for my small college in Missouri! Our performances are the first week of October and hopefully I'll be the ASM for the show. Of course, I do need to READ the play, but I keep hearing nothing but good things about it.

Yeah, our version was basically the two act play condensed into one act but people who had seen the original said that our version was still affective. We also had girls play Freak and Loner to really highlight how it could be anyone who opens fire and to make the transition from the "stereotypical school world" to the world of Columbine.
