I just saw the new previews for the Ryan Murphy "Versace American Crime Story" and was surprised to see that Will Chase is cast as a detective in more than a few episodes. I knew he was in "Stranger Things Season 2" and his other stuff but please, Will, we need you back on stage! (Maybe you could go into "Waitress"...)
As much as I love Victor Garber, you could play "Horace" to Audra's "Dolly"...(okay, enough dreaming) ...you look great in the promos for "Versace", along with Ricky Martin, and Darren Criss...again, as the older people say, "You've been eating your Wheaties!"
Looking forward to the series; you all look very fine!
I think he should be Jean Valjean in the next (inevitable) revival of Les Mis in 10 years.
I totally missed that Will Chase was in Stranger Things 2. Huh.

It was a very disturbing character (less forgiving than even Earl in Waitress - who at least was rooted in love and worthlessness; his Stranger Things 2 character was just plain old horrible). I want to see him as King George III. He'd have been great instead of that Xavier dude in Sunset Boulevard revival. He'll also be a fantastic replacement for Joshua Henry in Carousel. I can dreamcast him all day.

I've always thought he'd make a great Dan in "Next to Normal" some day!!

Off topic and I may be laughed off of the board for this suggestion, but I would love to see Joey McIntyre play King George III in the LA production. That role just cries out for an actor who is well known or at least is somewhat of a celebrity and I haven't been very impressed with many of the replacements.
Joey McIntyre is hardly a celebrity or well known. Most people probably don't even remember his name even if they've heard his songs on their walkmans 20 years ago.
Chase is very easy to dreamcast because in addition to being highly talented, he is also one of the most versatile musical theatre actors working today. When you look at his list of roles, both on Broadway and in regional theatre, it's really an incredible array. There doesn't seem to be a single style of musical theatre he can't do.
Usually in these dreamcast threads there's always a few suggestions I disagree with, even if I love the actor - but in this case I genuinely think he would slay in any of the roles mentioned here.
I was very pleased to be able to catch his first performance as Shakespeare in Something Rotten just a year and a half ago, but I agree that I'd love for him to return to Broadway in anything - the possibilities are extensive.
