Come Fly With Me!

Twyla Tharp's Frank Sinatra-inspired dance piece Come Fly With Me is aiming to arrive on Broadway in spring 2010, according to a casting notice.

Come Fly With Me played its world premiere engagement at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta this past September, where it received encouraging reviews, including a nod from the New York Times.

With the blessing of Frank Sinatra Enterprises and the Sinatra family, Come Fly With Me features original masters of Sinatra's voice, which are backed by a live on-stage band. The Alliance Theatre production previously stated that producers were planning a 2010 American tour, with Broadway also on the horizon.

The casting notice says Alliance principal cast members will re-create their roles for the upcoming Broadway production. The principal cast included Movin' Out veterans Keith Roberts, Matthew Dibble and Tony nominee John Selya, as well as newcomer Holley Farmer, Karine Plantadit (Damn Yankees), Rika Okamoto (Tarzan), Charlie Neshyba-Hodges (Tharp's The Times They Are A Changin') and Laura Mead.

Come Fly With Me also featured ensemble members Alexander Brady, Carolyn Doherty, Heather Hamilton, Ashley Tuttle, Todd Burnsed, Eric Otto, Justin Peck, Kristine Bendul, Jodi Melnick, Joel Prouty, Matt Rivera and John Sorensen-Jolink.

Lets hope its better than this dead cold turkey that played the London Palladium.
Once it completed its London season it was due to play 3 months at New York's Radio City Music Hall but after the London reviews it just ..... flew away!

Was that Sinatra the musical? which played about 3 years ago.

The above^ show did not interest me and neither will Come Fly With Me, IMO this will be another cold turkey.

I guess they are trying to emulate 'Movin Out', through Twyla Tharp's connection, history shows what happens when they try to emulate a show, look at Cry Baby and Young Frankenstein.

The curse of the Marquis will strike again. Looks like Irving Berlin's White Christmas can have the said theatre for the third year in a row.

Good location - could be a good show. Sinatra had the basis to be actually quite good - but it was just too thrown together at the last minute.
