Hi guys, the wife and I are going to be brave and drive to NYC for the weekend January 13 - 15. Question is: We really want to see DIana Degarmo in Hairspray... However, they have discounts for every performance BUT Saturdays... Do you think we should chance it and just show up for lottery or do you think they will release a new discount??? Any advise would be great! On that Sunday we're seeing at 2pm The Apple Tree and 7pm CHICAGO w/ Bebe.

Posted: 12/9/06 at 5:34pmif you go to TKTS they should have tickets for Hairspray. I got them on a Saturday night in the first Mezz Box on the left of the stage. Just make sure you either go to the other location or get to the times square one early.

Posted: 12/9/06 at 7:43pmWell, I'm not too sure we'll be there early enough for TKTS... We're driving to NYC and staying in Queens w/ friends and probably won't get there till around 3ish... I was REALLY hoping for a discount... I was wondering about trying the lottery since it'll be mid winter...

Posted: 12/10/06 at 7:59amtthomas76, the fact that it will be dead winter only encourages more folks to come out and do the lottery. Since it's a holiday weekend, you can expect a lot of students coming in from their college breaks as well. It's a tough call as to whether there will be a discount for that Saturday, but I don't doubt it will show up on TKTS. When you leave Queens and head into the city, go directly to South Street Seaport to the TKTS booth there, and you should be able to easily snag a couple. But it will definitely be a mad scene at the Times Square TKTS.

Yeah, I was hoping that broadwaybox.com would have a discount but right now they don't and the last one they gave was for everyday BUT Saturday... 
Oh, well... We may end up paying full price... We'll see... I've already seen the show but my wife really liked Diana during the whole American Idol thing.

If you haven't seen her, you will find Diana is fantastic in the role as Penny. Go see it you will walk out a fan! The show is hilarious, inspiring with great songs and cast.
