I was at the show this afternoon, too, in the front row rush seats! You were probably sitting near me. (Random, but you weren't with Bill, were you?)
The show was truly brilliant. I loved it so much. I'm so glad I decided to see it and I would love to see it again. It was just so well done, I was in awe.
Raul is unbelievable.
Oh and PS the rush tickets aren't supposed to go on sale until 12, but I got there at 11 and they sold them to us. I think they just want to sell tickets.

lol, welcome to my life. I always go alone, people think I'm nuts. I have to see about my work schedule first, but I really want to go next week because after that I'm really busy
I cant believe its only 2 more weeks

is the pause the Raul and Barbara took before "I'm not going to smoke, if that's what you're trying to stare me into (or whatever the actual line is...)" usualy that long, or were they waiting for the rather obnoxious cell phone that went off at that delicate moment?

It's usually long, I think - but how annoying! Why people cannot turn those phones off just baffles me.
That's almost as bad as the guy who burst out laughing during Barbara's a Capella "rises"
You'd think people expected someone to time these pauses.
Given what went down last night, maybe he was just a little more emotional than usual. I mean, hell, I'm spent just from witnessing it.
Did something happen? (Other than the closing notice?)

no I wasn't with anyone actually I was by myself, but I was knitting before the show started so maybe you saw me! I just wanted to say again how beautiful the show is. I wish I could see it again but I leave NY on tuesday. I think I'm going to send the cast my love via letter (would I send it c/o the theatre?).
On an interesting note, Mr. B, who plays Harry has taught the orchestra at my school a lot and is married to the main vocal lady at school. Hopefully come Fall I'll be able to talk to him about the closing and report back or something... even though by then it will be old news.
Yes, address it c/o The Barrymore -- you can find the address on Playbill.com.

oh thanks! And I don't need to send it to just one person right? I can write something to the affect of To the cast of Company c/o The Barrymore?
I would assume so. Or I've heard of people addressing letters to one cast member with the request to pass it around. It's your call, but either way, it'll get where it needs to go.

misschung i am going to student rush for the wed. matinee this coming week.
I am, but I don't know when.
Thanks, Em. That sounds like... a lot.
As of right now I'm planning on going either this coming Wednesday or the following week.
I'm going to the Wednesday matinee too but I don't know where my seat will be yet. I outgrew student rush a looooong time ago.
