At the risk of jinxing the whole thing, I have to say that I am amazed at the posts on this board. This site has been around for...how long?....a month or so? and in all the posts I've read and participated in, I haven't seen one case of fighting, name calling, insults toward someone who has a differeing opinion, etc. Unlike the old Bway.com board, this one has started out being a fun forum to log into. It's a place where people are discussing theater, sharing info and just having fun.
I doubted that this would be possible when I first joined this forum. I am thrilled to see that I was wrong.

I think our webmaster/host is also to than for this. By communicating with the people on here it sets up the feeling that this forum is not the unmonitored free for all that the other site was. You get the feeling that this is someone's project taht they are making avaialable to people who appreciate. Posters are probably less likely to want to ruin something like that.
Thanks, Rob, for providing a great place to visit when I want to goof off at work.

Posted: 6/5/03 at 11:49amI hope it stays this way. This has become my favorite website. It's one of the few where I feel free to agree or disagree at my own leisure.

Glad to do it! I'm very proud of the "fan community" that we've got going here, and am excited to keep doing my part just as you all keep doing yours.
Those new features I keep talking about are nearly ready too. ![]()

to my knowledge, there hasn't been one fight on Broadway.com (since the change) either. Namo, Spike and I have even exchanged a few kind words.
I post on both boards because I'm interested in whatever subject I'm posting on/about. I like this board very much, don't get me wrong, but I also like Broadway.com.
I don't understand this "us" and "them" philosophy. Because I post there, am I not welcome here?
This won’t be new to most of you because I know you read this on the other board :
I just have to say, it's strange how people here complain about there, yet seem to know what is going on there and complain about it here. And there are people there, complaining about here, yet seem to know what is going on here but complain about here there. I'm sure there is a thread of logic in there someplace but it escapes me. Anyway, I find it quite amusing. Notice I didn't mention any place but I somehow know what I'm saying will be perfectly understood.

Posted: 6/5/03 at 6:36pmI visit the old board once and a while to see if there is anything worth reading, but I don't post.
I agree with everything said as well.#12
Posted: 6/5/03 at 6:42pmI love not being hassled by posters on this forum. Thanks Rob, and congrats to everyone. THIS is my idea of a REAL broadway forum.

Posted: 6/5/03 at 8:47pmYea I hope it stays this way. But there is always a bad apple in a bunch. This is a great place, I actually don't feel... much more different coming here. Great atmosphere.

Posted: 6/5/03 at 8:49pmYes, I agree with what everyone said before. I love being able to talk to people who love theatre as much as I do without having to worry about being harrased about my opinions. Its an awesome site- and thanks everyone for being so cool and open to what others have to say!

Posted: 6/6/03 at 6:57amWhat do you know, the girls over at the 'other board' are talking about us... and they mentioned my post! They are talking about how pitiful it is that we talk about them on our board. hmmmm.... But wiat, they are talking about us, so aren't they just as pitiful??? According to them, they are far superior becasue we don't viciously disagree here.

Personally... I am happpy as a clam about this board -- we've got a great bunch of people, are growing quite nicely and nothing horrible has happened yet.
I think it's infinitely more interesting though for us to talk about theater than about other message boards. Live and let live!
On an unrelated 'Live and Let Live' note, I've had 'Live and Let Die' stuck in my head all week. McCartney!!

Well said! Why the focus on the dualling theater boards? Leave your childish behavior behind. Is it really more fun to degrade fellow theater fans than discuss actual theater? Not to me!

Rob,
If you heard and viewed it yet, get the DVD of Paul's Back in the USA tour from last year.. The rendition of "Live and Let Die" with the explosions is fabulous. If you think it's stuck in your head now, Wait!

Got it - and love it! The CD version of it is what's stuck in my head! Am still kicking myself for not seeing him when he was in the area. Oh well, he says he'll be back. ![]()

Posted: 6/6/03 at 9:51amI was very lucky and got to enjoy Paul twice last year, spring and fall. It was the BEST. And like yourself, I am assuming there will be another Tour in the future. So since he turned 60 last year, it do expect to see in 4 years on the "When I'm 64" Tour.

Posted: 6/6/03 at 12:42pmI don't check there anymore, but I can say when I was checking there the atmsophere was not as friendly as here. But as for "duelling websites" I do check a lot of sites and there always seems to be that kind of rivalry going on---gay sites, gossip sites, etcetera. It's kind of Western culture to set up that duality (good guy/bad guy, right/wrong, Coke/Pepsi, etcetera) and use that model. I'm just happy here with some really intelligent and good-natured people, with the prime example being the Webmaster. Trickle-down works at last.
