Has anyone attended one of the VIP after parties where you get to "mingle with the stars"? Just wondering if it's worth the cost. If anyone has been, what was the party like? Thanks!

That all depends on whether you consider Seth Rudetsky and his husband "stars".

I have not attended a specific Concert for America VIP event, but I did attend one after a Carnegie Hall Pops concert  (Chris Jackson, Will Chase, Jessie Mueller and Adrienne Warren) and if your expectation was to have a drink and small talk with the headliners - it was not that type of even, so I would say not worth it.  I believe it was an additional   $75 - I don't really remember the actual cost.  The performers did not mingle at all.  Chris Jackson was the most gracious and did a little.  Jessie Mueller and Will Chase came in, then stayed pretty much to  an area off of the main gathering space.  They posed for pics with the concert organizers and left.  I did not have any expectations to mingle with any of them - just to support the Pops, but I know some (young fans) were disappointed. I was also at an event to support a Goodwin Theatre Educational initiative in Chicago - because my husband's company is a huge backer and it was an entirely different experience, but it was a different type of event, there were only about 25 VIP's in the pre luncheon gathering.  Not sure how the Concert for America is organized.

I haven't been to the after party, but after the Seattle concert, most of the performers (including Megan Hilty, Sierra Boggess, and Kerry Butler) came out to mingle with the audience and accept donations.  We were glad we didn't spend the money for the after party.  I don't know if that happens every time, but it was a nice surprise.  The perfect conclusion to a wonderful evening.
