I conducted a production of Singin' in the Rain this summer. The conductor has lines in the final scene asking Lina what song she will sing and what key.

I'll admit that one of my favorite parts of the Spring Awakening Tony performance is watching the conductor, who I now know is Kimberly Grigsby, bounce around at the beginning of the Mama Who Bore Me (reprise). It makes me smile.
