Ok, in this thread, cast Broadway stars in roles that you think that would be good for them, but many other people would think would be bad for them. This could actually prove to be an interesting thread.
I'll start:
Personally, I know that many people would disagree with me here, but I'd love to see Gary Beach play the MC in "Caberet". Not the Joel Grey MC mind you, but the Alan Cumming version, and he would do a MUCH better job than Alan Cumming did, too, judging by the clips I recently saw of Alan Cumming's performance of "Willkomenn" at the Tonys. Actually, I think he could play the Joel Grey version of the MC, too. I think that it would proove to be an interesting stretch for him. I'd also like to see Mr. Beach as the Wizard in "Wicked".
And if Terrance Mann developed his voice just a little bit more and made it fuller and richer, I'd *love* to see him play Sweeney. It would also be interesting to see Frances Ruffelle as Mimi in "Rent" (never saw the show, just judging by the soundtrack here), or maybe even Ado Annie.
Any others?

You insult me, I ignore you. That's how the system works around here.
