"Well why dont you just bash a WICKED fan, when they talk 90% of what they talk about is WICKED. That doesnt' seem to bother anyone,"
You're kidding, right?
"If you haven't seen it live, dont talk about it! If you didn't like it, dont say anything about it!"
Excuse me? If you don't like it, don't say anything about it? I can't begin to tell you how much that comment irks me.
And for the record, I *did* see Brooklyn and I thought it was dreadful.

THEN DON'T SAY ANYTHING...tada! and now we can have Rob close this thread!

What he means is that it really isn't necessary for you to go out of your way to insult bklyn the instant someone even mentions the show. All TT had originally said was that bklyn used this costco ticketing thing and of course every immature bklyn hater has to respond with "well a lot of good it did bklyn, the show failed terribly" or something to that extent. And for those of you who say you saw the show but still thought it was terrible...the second time I went to the show I went with my sister who had heard terrible things about bklyn and basically was expecting it to live up to that. Although the show is not her favorite, she still enjoyed it and I don't think she would say that it's "dreadful". I think it would be impossible for someone to go to the show and not even enjoy it in the least bit. It's funny because I bet a lot of you enjoyed it even a little bit but would never dare to admit that on BWW, at the risk of hurting your "image".
thank you Sarah! and i apologize iflitifloat, sometimes i get a little too into these threads...hehe :) so sorry, Thank you sarah for summing that up!
hehe i know isn't it crazy? I wish my costco would do that!

I'm exempt on this one...after all, I'm the person who went on record as having liked Prymate.
And I went on record liking Carrie and Dracula. Hell, I love Dracula, and think it's better than Spamalot.
And I admitted to liking some songs from Brooklyn. And it had all the right intentions but had horrible execution.

I hated Brooklyn. Saw it BEFORE all the drones of "it's dreadful" here on the board. I thought the plot was weak. Ive said time and time again it's when bad theatre happens to good performers.
Sans the last note, I did like "Once Upon a Time". That last note was evil though, and hurts my ears.
Sarah, I dont think you're in a position of having been here long enough to come in and lecture everyone. Personally, I couldn't care less about what you have to say..... but I digress. Im just sick of EVERYTHING out of TT's mouth relating back to Brooklyn. Build a bridge (no pun intended) and get over it.

Hmm, yes CJR, that makes perfect sense. Since i've only been reading the boards since april, i'm in no position to tell the bklyn bashers that maybe they should consider easing up a bit. Imagine how much I would have to say if I had started reading the boards ealier. And I would also like to thank you for showing everyone here a perfect example of the people that i'm "lecturing". I appreciate it when someone like you is able to respond to one of my posts in a way that further proves my point. It's good to see that some other people were able to respond in a more non-confrontational way that allows me to respect what they have to say and realize where they're coming from.

You're missing my point.
You weren't here from the beginning of the Brooklyn crap to understand why it's SO annoying to hear nothing but that out of TT's proverbial mouth. If TT was a Brooklyn fanatic BUT posted about other shows and topics as well, it wouldn't be a huge deal. It's the fact that it's ALL TT talks about... whether or not we agree with him is really irrelevant. It's redundant.
Case and point:
I enjoy Chicago, I used to work in association with the Broadway and Touring companies, I have many friends who have been in and out of both companies.... Is Chicago all I post about? No, it's not. I will gladly answer any question, have a discussion about it, weigh the pros and cons of certain actors and actresses in varying roles, but I also have a lot to say about OTHER THINGS. My life doesn't revolve around Chicago, and I don't only post if it's relevant to Chicago.
If TT were like that, I can guarantee you nobody would have THIS big of an issue.

Ok I guess I see what you're saying...it's true that I haven't read all of TT's posts since last summer so I wouldn't know why all of you are so harsh to him. And though I do realize that sometimes I can get carried away, I still don't think it was right for you to act that way towards me. All you had to do was explain to me what you meant instead of saying things about how you "couldn't care less about my opinion". So anyway, now I understand what you mean but I also understand where TT is coming from because I too tend to become a bit obsessive when I discover a show that I like very much. I think it's cool when someone (like TT) is so passionate about a show because I know what it's like to want to share the show with friends or other people and realize how personally insulting it can feel when people show a lot of hate towards something I like.
