Has anyone seen this? Costco is testing a ticketing service that is tied into Telecharge. So far only Phantom and Slava's Show are available and the tickets are discounted and good seats. No codes required but you have to be a Costco member.
Example for Phantom:
Searched for 2 tickets, Thursday September 15, Best available
Costco: Center Orchestra Row E, Seats 109-110 $57.50 each $4 service charge $123.00 for the pair
Telecharge: Right Orchestra Row C, Seats 12-14 $100.00 each $6 service charge $2 handling charge $214.50 for the pair
Costco Ticketing
hmm...thats interesting...do you think that'd include all costco's all over? would they start selling tickets?
This is old news..
They sold Brooklyn tickets there too..
I think it's pretty smart actually.
Most Broadway shows rely on discount ticketing (just look at the average ticket price on the Broadway gross chart). Rather then make tourists, foreign to NYC, wait in line at TKTS (in "scary Times Square"), why not give them the option of ordering early?
PHANTOM could probably run for ten more years with this strategy.
"Yeah - and look what happened to it! Maybe it's a clearing house for bad shows. (I know Phantom's not a BAD show, but it's been there forever.)"
Actually, this service just HELPED Brooklyn and sold a lot of tickets.
And Brooklyn is far from being a bad show.
Shows like DRACULA and LITTLE WOMEN would have been ideal for this kind of service: familiar titles to ticket buyers not familiar with Broadway musicals.
Would also be good for things like SWEET CHARITY -- Christina Applegate probably means something to the average Costco shopper in Peoria.

Must everything be about Brooklyn? Find another show to beat to death. Brooklyn is dead. A Broadway failure. A failure of a tour to come. Get over it.
Dracula was a masterpiece compared to BKLYN.
But I digress.
This is smart. And now I can afford to see Slava!
"A failure of a tour to come."
The tour is not starting 'til NEXT YEAR!
Brooklyn will be VERY successful on tour and with regional productions (and the INTERNATIONAL productions which are already planned to open this fall).

TT. It's closed. Stop shilling. It was one of the most godawful things I have ever seen -- and I've seen a LOT of godawful shows in my day.
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
Did you see a preview?
I saw a preview and they had some mishaps.
But, in such a technical show as Dracula, you expect that something like that may happen.
Plus, Bram Stoker's spirit was trying to close the show and give someone a hint to re-write the book.
But when I saw it, the last weekend, it ran as smooth as it should.
Melissa Errico and Tom have said there have been many mishaps, most of which people don't see.
I would have LOVED to see those mistakes.
Are you sure it wasn't the nude scenes where costumes fell off? Oh, and what mountain?
Like it or not CJR, Brooklyn may not be playing Broadway anymore (for a while) but it still lives with many upcoming productions.

"Brooklyn will be VERY successful on tour.."
Try and save a shred of credibility.
HAHA
I wonder how many mishaps POTO has had....
The carriage broke down? It doesn't even do anything lol. That's funny.
Who lost her costume?
I always said, that machine the effortlessly rips off Kelli's costumes in a flash is a godsend!
By the by, if Dodgers ever recovers, Dracula will be touring.
Shall I shill now, or shill later?
No, I should get paid for whoring Dracula.
Alot of people in LA want to see Brooklyn
TT- you got over Little Shop, can you PLEASE just try and get over Brooklyn. You can still see the tour 230,000 times and star in a community theatre production.

You'd think you were one of the investors the way you shill a CLOSED SHOW.
And for the record, I dont give a crap about touring and regional productions of it. If you want it to live on, let it live on in your stereo.
People who appreciate and know fabulous theatre are happy to let Brooklyn die.

I don't mean to be mean, but for the love of god Tiny Toon, there are other shows besides Brooklyn. I don't think I have ever seen a post of yours that didn't include a reference to Brooklyn or any one of it's cast. You like Brooklyn, WE GET THE POINT!

Will you people just give it a rest and leave TT alone? He's not shilling, simply defending a show that he happens to like because many of the people on this board do not know how to respect the opinions of others. TT, I knew the second I read your post that there would be a whole slew of people saying "smart" comments about how bklyn was a terrible failure. Really, you need to get some new material because it became very old and unoriginal a LONG time ago.
All TT talks about is BKLYN.
It's not like this is the first time.

It has nothing to do (at least on my end) about not respecting the opinion of others. He doesn't need to shove it in everyone's faces all the time..... it doesn't need to be 99% of what comes out of his mouth.
The actors in Brooklyn were indeed very talented. The show, the material and the story line were DREADFUL. That's not my uninformed, fluffy opinion either, it's backed with years of theatre going experience and years in the business of professional theatre.
Maybe people would get off his back if he posted someone that had nothing to do with Brooklyn once in a while.

Sarah, unless you suffered through the months of Brooklyn hype, you might not be in the best position to sit in judgement of those who were here. It was pretty intense, hence the occasional jabs.
Exactly. It has nothing to do with the fact that he likes Brooklyn. It has to do with the fact that every one of his posts in every thread is Brooklyn realted. Every, and I mean EVERY, thread is skewed by Tiny Toon to bring up Brooklyn. I understand loving a show, but give it a rest already.

Um, ok, well i've suffered through months of people on BWW bashing the show and showing complete disrespect to anyone who actually likes it. Yeah, so TT likes the show, big deal. Maybe he wouldn't talk about bklyn all the time if he didn't always feel the need to defend the show against all of you.
Well why dont you just bash a WICKED fan, when they talk 90% of what they talk about is WICKED. That doesnt' seem to bother anyone, leave TT alone, he likes Brooklyn, let him like Brooklyn it isn't hurting anyone else! If you haven't seen it live, dont talk about it! If you didn't like it, dont say anything about it!
