Is it possible that Red will extend its run?

I imagine if it wins Best Play it will extend, and eventually even get to replacements. Like Carnage.

Hmm, for some reason I have a hard time seeing this happen without its two stars. If they do extend, I'd imagine it would only be if Molina and Redmayne find time for it.

If they were going to extend, wouldn't they have announced it by now? They're scheduled to close in 3 and a half weeks.

I heard Molina and Redmayne on The Leonard Lopate Show on npr the other day, and from what they said, I don't think an extension is likely. Remember they played the roles in the West End as well, so they've been in it for a while. The implication - if not the exact words - was that they don't want the roles to get routine for them and would rather stop while they're still feeling fairly fresh.

It's extremely unlikely that Red will extend. In order to do so, they would have to recast both roles, and the producers are not currently planning to do so. As the closing date is about 3 weeks away, that doesn't leave much time for them to change their minds and start the search for new stars. Technically anything's possible, though!
