I don't mind Craig as Sky... as long as they don't cast a 20-something opposite him as Sarah.

If Sarah is mid-30s, it'll work fine!

But Anne Hathaway and Craig?

No. Not unless you want to get creeped out.

(And YES, I know in the '40s and '50s, we had your Fred Astaire and others playing opposite women two decades younger like Audrey Hepburn... but the last time I checked, this isn't the '40s and '50s. Not by a long shot.)

Lauren Ambrose is about fourteen years younger, which I don't think is a major age difference (I'm all for intergenerational relationships and I do think there's an interesting chemistry between a younger Sarah and an older, worldly Sky). I think what matters more is that they have a good chemistry together, Ambrose is a great actress, Bierko's a sexy fun actor, I can see them working well as a romantic pair.
Wonder if she is indeed attached to the production or if it's just a rumor.

Bierko would be a good choice, though does he really sing well? I know that Sky isn't all the demanding a role vocally, it doesn't at all high (only to a D, I think), but you need someone with a good instrument who can sustain a line. I'm not saying Bierko's not, but my impression of him was that he was just a passable singer.

To the person who asked about Sky's age: There's absolutely in the script that really gives any indication about his age, leaving it pretty open. I really think he can be anywhere from 30ish (I don't think much younger makes sense, Sky's obviously been living his gambler's life for a number of years) to 45 or even 50, as long as he looks good.

One of the good things about the 1976 revival was casting a somewhat older Sky and Sarah. It made their romance very touching in a way that it isn't always.

I do think 35 or so is about as old as Sarah can go.
