Craig Bierko drops out of TO BE OR NOT TO BE

First Brian Murray, now Craig Bierko. One wonders what's going on behind the scenes.

"In a statement director Casey Nicholaw said, "Craig is a gifted actor and although he will be missed, I look forward to the possibility of working with him again in the future."

Manhattan Theatre Club executive producer Barry Grove and acting artistic director Daniel Sullivan added, "We respect Craig's decision to leave the production and we will announce his replacement shortly.""

re: Craig Bierko drops out of TO BE OR NOT TO BE

"It just came to me! I mean, I just completely woke up just now! What are we doing? Look at us! We have given our lives to an art form that we think is truly special and unique and magical and now.....I mean, look at us! We're turning to films to get our point across? For straight plays? Why?? So middlebrow people who only go to theater that has titles that they have heard of can get mild, forgettable entertainment? To degrade our own imaginations? To devalue the magic of theater altogether? This is wrong, I tell you ! Wrong!! I'd rather do my 350th failed pilot than do this! At least that's honest! Gotta get out....gotta get out now!"

(CRASH!! Bierko jumps through window and hits the pavement running)
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

re: Craig Bierko drops out of TO BE OR NOT TO BE

Jesus.

This show just can't catch a break. You know, I was really excited to see this. I was going to make sure to catch it in the fall- mostly because I love Craig Bierko.

But now.

I have no motivation whatsoever to see this show.

Anyone have any dirt as to why he left?

I'm seeing it on 9/28 and really looking forward to it. There's some great talent in the cast and now that David Rasche has come aboard, I'm looking forward to it that much more.

Maybe, just maybe it's the whole actor, turned choreographer, turned director trend that's got these guys running for the hills.
