Hi all! I want to create a Wikipedia page for Nic Rouleau since he's a fantastic actor who I think deserves one by now. The problem is, I can't seem to find much information about him besides professional. I would like to add things like birthday, childhood, etc. and I thought I might write him a letter asking (if he was okay with it, of course) if he would like to give me that information to put on the page. I don't know how to do this without being creepy! Is it too much? Do you think he would be creeped out or uncomfortable with it? Thanks!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with creating a Wikipedia page for a actor you admire. In fact that's how most of Wikipedia works - there's also a privision that if you know the person you're not supposed to make a page about them. So a publicist couldn't even if they wanted to (I feel they have other more important things to do anyway?)
If you don't know certain information leave it out for now. Wikipedia has many pages of actors with only professional information, it's fine. I don't understand why everyone here is acting like creating a wikipedia page for someone you're a fan of is so insane/weird/creepy.

I think they're more saying that specifically asking Nic for his birthday and stuff is what's creepy, which I kind of agreed with, which is why I asked, just to see if I was being paranoid or something. I don't think they mean making the page is that weird.

I think you could make the page using any information that Nic/ his agent has publicly put out in places like IBDB, linkedin etc (so you can also put them at the bottom of the wikipedia page as 'sources'
. then maybe just email the link to Nic or his agent and let them edit it as they please. (after that, they could also 'lock' the page so that trolls can't mess with it)

I would agree with those who suggest you go ahead and create a page using information already published on the internet. This is generally expected on Wikipedia anyhow; interviewing a subject and putting otherwise unverifiable information into an article might be considered original research.
Wikipedia pages aren't "lockable" by users. If a particular page has been subject to vandalism or some other kind of drama, users can request that a page be protected. Only administrators can do this, and it's fairly rare.

And remember, if you can't find much information, that probably means the subject is "unnotable", and your page could get deleted.
