Creepiest Children's Show?

Creepiest Children's Show?

I nominate Mr. Rogers.

Nightmares to this day.

I loved Mr. Rogers but I HATED those puppets.

Creepiest Children's Show?

Totally the Teletubbies.

Kids films that still creep me out: The Raggedy Anne & Annie Movie and The Dark Crystal. RA&A in particular was just insane.

The Misadventures of Flapjack. Watching it is like having a 30 minute acid flashback.

danmag, I googled The Adventures of Flapjack and now feel strangely compelled to watch it.

Creepiest Children's Show?

I never knew if that puppet with Rosacea was a man or a woman.

EDIT: Yeah, I agree with "Mr. Rogers" for creepiest. I know he was a sincere host and all that, but his show still had a pedophile vibe to it. Bleccchh.

besty, the puppet's name is Lady Elaine Fairchilde so there's your answer.

Then again, people wonder about Gaga, too, so "Lady" is not always a giveaway.

Has anyone here seen Oobie on Noggin? All of the characters are hands with eyes glued on them. It's sorta creepy.

My niece used to love Oobi! It did creep me out a little...especially Grandpoo's toothless mouth-fist. And I think Max and Ruby are adorable, but where the hell are their parents, anyway?

Creepiest Children's Show?

Did anyone ever see the second series of Sailor Moon over here? They ruined it by editing lesbian lovers Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus by making them cousins. The problem I saw was that they would still touch each other and do things that only people in love would do. If they didn't want children do be exposed to lesbians and gay culture, not the best show to Americanize and keep the much of the animation, except for the really racy scenes.

Hope this made sense.

Creepiest Children's Show?

Pee-Wee is in no way creepy. It's just comic genius.

I can see why people would be freaked out by some of the Mr. Rogers puppets, but I never was. I love Mr. Roger's.

The Wee Sing videos were always kinda strange, ESPECIALLY this little beauty:

Creepiest Children's Show?

Little Bunny Foo Foo STILL scares me. I even contacted the actor on Facebook to get closure on how he's not real. lol Nightmares.

Yo Gabba Gabba is either a lot of fun or creepy...I can't decide....

Creepiest Children's Show?

My first reaction would be to say Lazy Town because the puppets on that show are so creepy. But the guy who plays Sportacus is gorgeous, which makes the show almost bearable.

The Doodlebops are rather creepy, but they are more annoying than anything else. But it's a great show for boys who need to identify with characters who are out of the closet.

For creepiness, nothing beats BoohBah. It will paralyze you with fear. Within two minutes, you will have the shakes and believe the police are directly outside your door. They's been watching you. They know what you're doing. You don't know if you will ever feel normal again.

BoohBah!

Creepiest Children's Show?

"The Secret Lives of Toys" creeped me out as a kid. Actually I think it was more that Christmas movie that preceded it.

Seriously though, any kid growing up in Australia in the 80s to mid 90s proberly was subjected to the show "Mulligrubs".

Here is an example - first part of the clip and towards the end - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3kZcuAeaNk

Basically - freaky floating face scared the bejesus out of a generation of kids.
