Didn't miss anything? You missed everything, Yankeefan! That number is one of my favorite numbers in the musical. From the trumpet blares at the beginning, you just know the song is going to be an incredible romanticization of how the bystanders "saved Roosevelt". Zangara is so emotional in that song, and the end...the sounds of the electrocution scare me every time I listen to it.
That's touching, really. You scare so easily. Lord knows, you were CRYING from laughter at the producers, clearly it doesn't take much.
