According to Playbill..."Waters—his 1990 Johnny Depp opus, "Cry-Baby." It’s on the Seattle-in-February/Broadway-in-spring swing, and casting is going on now. Baldwin, the title character’s chief nemesis, will be Christopher J. Hanke from the late Into My Life."

well good for Hanke.
Into my Life? That is late.
i'm not being immature or obnoxious, just stating an opinion. What makes them think this show will do well? People are going to get tired of all the same shows.

Can you link to that article?
I just did a search on Playbill and didn't find that information.
I hope this is true. Poor Chris J Hanke... so freakin talented
Hanke is TRES attractive
That too... I thought he was good in Fame (although I was holding him up to measure against Gavin Creel, which isn't totally fair), and then I thought he was the redeeming feature in In My Life, and then he BLEW MY MIND at the Cutz/Flopz concert. He needs a good role
i'm a huge Waters fan... but this movie was really lackluster and it seems like a real lame followup to Hairspray on Broadway... I would much rather see "Pink Flamingos the Opera" and the sequal which is a marvelous read! I recommend it if you get a chance. Cry Baby is just sooo boring.

cool, what did he sing at the Cutz/Flopz concert?
Just because HAIRSPRAY was a hit, doesn't mean the world wants to see every John Waters film turned into a musical. Ditto Mel Brooks.
I have no problem with musicals being adapted for stage, but why are they picking "these" properties? I think audiences are going to get tired real fast.
I am DYING to get an audition for that role - I asked my agent. For the title role
Hopefully I will get to audition.

rentboy- He sang You Are So Beyond from Marilyn: An American Fable... it was INCREDIBLE, and i'm really sad broadwayworld isn't selling the concert on DVD like they do with Standing Ovations...

how can you NOT cast him in everything!?
Will he look as good as Johnny Depp in just Prison bottoms?
CQTboo, between that pic and your avatar, I literally stopped and stared at the screen for two minutes... toooooo much hotness
ah! i just stopped too!
Jamie Parker AND Christopher J. Hanke!
HOT HOT HOT!
(Off topic but) At intermission of History Boys, my friends and I spent 10 minutes discussing how brilliant the play was and then 5 minutes arguing over who the hottest history boy is... (I think most young people seeing the show did the same thing) My vote went to Jamie Parker, haha

I'm excited because I think that Christopher is an amazing actor, and amazingly hot. For me, he was the highlight of In My Life, and completely stole the show. I just want him back on broadway!
Yes! SERIAL MOM with Carolee Carmello. I'd buy a ticket right now, sight unseen.
TT
yeah and the ending number could be called "White Pants/Labor Day"

Thanks Fame.
If the rest of the talent can measure up to Hanke, maybe this production won't be as horrible as the film was.
Jamie Parker is ALWAYS being overshadowed by Dominic Cooper and Samuel Barnett... but i'm here to tell ya!
HE'S THE HOTTEST!
(that sounds like my intermission conversation would be
)
Hmmm, this could be pretty good casting. While I was very disappointed with In My Life (I was really hoping for a so-bad-it-was-good-camp-fest...it wasn't), I could see him being decent with some quality material (assuming Cry Baby will live up to the movie in its camp-fest(iness??)!
And since I can't pass up a little swoony-girl gushing over the History Boys. It's a definite toss-up between Dominic Cooper and Jamie Parker. I think with even playing fields, Jamie would get my vote, but since I was sitting right in front of Cooper (at the end) and got a little smile, I can't help but give him the edge.
