I went on a picnic and got a horrible case of chiggers. Anyone know of some home remedies? I'm just festering! Help!

My friend says that if you put rubbing alcholhol then clear nail polish on them to kill them- that may be an old wives cure, but maybe it's worth a try.

Keep the area clean with soap and water and apply calamine lotion to control the itching. Try not to scratch much as you can easily cause a secondary infection. Hydrocortisone might help as well. You could also try taking some Benadryl to help releave the itching.

No, actually a picnic. The baths were closed for remodeling. They won't open again till next Sunday, but my condition should be all cleared up by then!
