Current POTO tour? — Page 2

Does anyone know if Peter has gone on as André yet? I've seen several people say they saw him as Raoul, but so far I haven't seen anything about André. Although I suppose that one's a more minor role.

Peter is listed in Playbill under 'cast of characters' as "Hairdresser ("Il Muto")/Marksman"....there was a 'seperate' notice in Playbill at the Wednesday 10th March matinee, (the performance we attended), that the role of Raoul was being played by Peter Lockyer at that particular performance.

Last Wednesday is the only time I have seen the production, so far, therefore it's the only performance I can address. I hope to see it a few more times before it leaves Chicago in early May.

To LaigleL...it's true, the role of the character of Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny, has only been discussed, so far, as Raoul appears in the musical.

The character of Raoul has not yet been discussed as he appears in the book.

Hmm? A wee bit confused. I just checked the national tour comings and goings page, and it hasn't been updated since January 19th. It still has Tim Martin Gleason listed as Raoul.

I doubt it's anything to panic over.

The webmaster(s) over there are notorious for not double checking. For about a month, I believe the London cast of Les Miz had two Valjeans and two Eponines.

ohhh, that tour page. I was looking at the other one, y'know, the one with the whole cast listed. Well, we'll have to see what happens with this! how long was TMG's picture missing?

Any other reviews?? The big day is Sunday...I'm seeing it for the first time! Is there anything interesting to keep my eye on during the show? thanks!

Thanks sally! I did keep my eye on it! Alright here's my little review of it:
I saw the poto tour in chicago on the Easter matinee. I was really excited to see it because it was my first time. So getting to the point, i LOVED Rebecca Pitcher's (Christine) voice, it was awesome. At first i thought Gary Mauer's (phantom) voice was too deep for the role. But as the show went on, it started to grow on me and i loved it. However, I did not like Tim Martin Gleason's (raoul) voice....there was something about it that i coulndt put my finger on. His notes didn't come out smoothly. When the chandalier falls in act 1, i was anticipating a big crash or something. Instead i got a glide down onto the stage and no sound. It completely reuined the effect for me. The lack of sound effects in the whole show almost reuined it for me. The sets (especially for a touring production) were awesome. I also liked the lighting and admired the costumes. I saw the show with my parents who had already seen it a few years ago. And they said that the Phantom isnt unmasked throughout most of the second act. Yesterday, he was unmasked from The Point Of No Return till the End. I found that pretty weird. Was it always like that? My parents swear is was different. In all, it was a great afternoon of theatre. It was not one of my favorite musicals i've seen, but i enjoyed it more than i thought i would. From a person who used to be terrified of the Phantom and his mask, it was great! Thanks for reading!!

I've seen the show about 14 times and yes, it's been the same here.

And there's never been any crashing sound for the chandelier.
