Hey everyone!
Just bought tix for Wicked in May... it will be my 3rd time. I've already been absolutely WOWWED and flat out amazed at Eden, Shoshana, Megan, and Kendra. I simply can't imagine it getting any better.
How is the current cast? Does Julia compare to her incredible predecessors? Is Kendra as good as she was 2 years ago? How about the Fyerro? Nessa? Morrible? Mostly curious about Julia tho...
Just wondering what to expect! It will be a massive let down if Julia can't compare with Eden or Sho who, in my opinion, are untouchable. Can her style be compared to anyone else's?
Let me know your thoughts on the current cast! thx!
*AND BTW, IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A "WICKED" POST... DON'T RESPOND AND WHINE ABOUT IT. SIMPLY HIT THE BACKSPACE BUTTON AND GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE*

Julia is amazing! I saw her in June on tour and I can tell you that you will have no problem with her. I also saw Kendra as well as Sebastian (sp?) and they were both great. However I've only seen these three people, but judging from them you WILL enjoy this cast.

Shoshana, in my opinion, was a complete disaster. You'll definitely enjoy Julia more than Shoshana at least.
Shoshana was not that baaaAA(riff)ad. (i am joking, duh!)

She wasn't baaad at all, she was okay.
However, I saw Idina in London, and WOW. Just, WOW. Not much else I can say.
Julia is definitely the best Elphaba I have seen. She's utterly fantastic. And Kendra and Sebastian are great as well.

I'm finally seeing it in May (on the 11th). I've managed to avoid it so far but I really am hoping to enjoy it. I'll Try, By God, I'll Try (CAROUSEL)
shoshana was the best one, honestly in my opinion. ALTHOUGH i will admit she would sometimes riff in places where it was totally unnecessary (sp?).
I've seen Wicked several times with various different casts, and personally, I think the current Broadway cast is overall THE strongest combination I've ever seen. In my opinion - best Elphaba, tied for best Glinda, best Boq, best Wizard, best Fiyero, best Nessa...Jayne I wasn't as keen on, but she's still good!
Eden was my first Elphaba and my favourite in the role until I saw Julia. Julia's simply amazing. I was blown away: seeing her for the first time was like seeing Wicked for the first time. She really made me BELIEVE she was Elphaba - it sounds bizarre, but I completely forgot it was Julia Murney I was watching until she began to sing, and bam, there's that killer voice. She doesn't just act Elphaba, she IS Elphaba. And Kendra was even better than I remembered her in 2005 when I first saw her :) Same for Cristy - I also saw her in 2005 when she was understudying Michelle and she left very little impression on me. Cristy v.2007 was AMAZING.
All of them are also absolute dolls if you see them after the show :) Same with Sebastian - lovely guy, awesome Fiyero. And he actually made me believe in the hasty Fiyero/Elphaba romance.
Logan and David I also saw in 2005 and they were always my favourites in the roles, so I was thrilled to see them both again.
Phew, there's my epic :) Enjoy the show, I know you will!
Julia is absolutely fabulous! I saw her on tour and she is a complete powerhouse. Sebastian is a good Fiyero.Kendra is still fabulous. Sometimes she goes a bit over the top but she's great.
Just my opinion, I didn't see Shoshana but have heard her and she sounded like a mess. She over riffed to the point where it was distracting. She was trying way to hard to not sound like Idina.

Eden and Megan ARE Elphaba and Glinda to me. I still love listening to Idina and Kristin on the OBC, but since I actually got to see Eden and Megan perform, they are amazing to me.

A lot of people think that Julia is the ultimate Elphaba.

Julia is brilliant. She able to completely embody every role she takes on. She's the only reason I saw the tour, and she blew the roof off the 4700 seat theatre she was in. And her acting is perfect. She's the only reason I would ever consider seeing the show again. I thought Kendra was hilarious too.

If that 4700 seat house you are talking about is the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, I will too vouch that Julia blew the roof off it. Her performance made me actually like Wicked a little bit. As a side note, as the house lights dimmed and the pre-show announcement was made, the girls at the Fox went wild like it was a damn rock concert. I had trouble hearing the opening of the overture and I was on the front row. Bad behavior if you ask me.

That is indeed the theatre I am talking about. It's huge. And many people acted like they were at a rock concert. Julia has mentioned in a couple interviews that the audiences in Atlanta were crazy. I believe she likened it to a Mick Jagger concert.
Kendra is better than on tour, and in my opinion Julia is the best Elphaba.
Hopefully a rock concert will come nowhere near The Atlanta Fox
There once was an absolutely georgeous theater in Detroit called The Michigan. After a few rock concerts, the inside was so destroyed that the owner could do nothing with it. As a result, the inside was gutted & it becaming a parking garage. The theater is in the movie 8 Mile
Julia was AMAZING when I saw her. Her acting is just out of this world. The rest of the cast was good, but I wouldn't say that anyone stood out in particular, except for Cristy. Kendra was awful when I saw her. Problably the worst performance given from anyone I have ever seen in that show with the exception of Rue. But it might have been an off-night.
