Can you take pictures of the curtain calls in theatres? I just saw someone who had one in the fan photos section.

Photos taken by the general public are NOT permitted inside a theater. At any time. There are occasions, usually during an opening or closing, when selected professionals are INVITED to take photos at curtain calls. It's not suppose to be a free-for-all.

A girl in front of me whipped out her camera during Urban Cowboy's bows. Two ushers RACED to her with their flashlights, starting yelling, but didn't take her camera or anything. The usher just stood there with her arms crossed, shaking her head. It was kinda funny.
if you are caught taking photos, a lot of mean ushers will have no remorse taking your film or camera.

So what in their behavior constitutes being mean? That fact that they're performing their job.
Funny how everytime someone has to point out and enforce behavior that the violator knows to be prohibited then their actions are labeled "Mean". Sorta like calling someone rude because you don't like what they say, regardless of what was said.

Okay so I am a bad, rude & stupid person... I always take one of my cameras when my friends are performing. I have pictures that they never could have possibly gotten without me taking them. We have some great shots during shows, curtain call etc. NONE of my pictures end up on ebay or anywhere else for that matter. None of them get sold for a profit to anyone. Only myself and the person that I have taken a picture of have a copy. So why is that bad, rude or stupid? Who is it harming? Every single person that I have given the pictures to love them and are so appreciative of getting them.
Just for the record I do NOT use a flash, so no one is disturbed by my camera.
Okay go ahead and throw the pies at me.

We were not talking about that, Emma. We were talking about fans that take pics during the show! So calm down.

I'm not upset, so need to calm down. I just found this topic interesting.
I do take pictures during the show and some of them are amazing. I've been lucky and only got busted once and that was because I was sitting to close to the stage. My friend had asked me to take this one picture for him during this one scene and it was just to quiet during that scene and someone heard the shutter click. During intermission they sent in the usher's to tell me to stop taking pictures. So I did.
