Mrs R would like to listen to it prio to our seeing it on 5/6. I told her it will come out ASAP but doubt it would be ready by than

Good news indeed. Now we need to see the rest of the K/E unproduced musicals including their first which, I believe , was called Golden Gate.

Or a reissue of Woman of the Year. I'd love to hear that again (and not at 100 bucks for a used copy) before Golden Gate.
This is great. It's nice that it's getting recorded. There are some great songs in this show.

I'm thrilled, selfishly, but on the other hand, you've gotta feel for this cast - they're rehearsing every day of previews, still having costume fittings/changes, doing the show at night, and I would think are dying for opening to be over so they can get on a regular schedule. And now they have to do this the Monday after opening.

I'm sure they're working on sheer excitement and adrenaline alone. I can't imagine how exhausted they must be. It's been an especially tough few weeks with the deaths of Daniel MacDonald and Darlene Wilson (both of whom worked with many members of the company....it's my understanding - after overhearing a conversation between security guards and D.H. Pierce - that the company was notified of Ms. Wilson's death during pre-show rehearsals.) MacDonald's name has already been added to the faux-back wall set piece. It's the largest and most legible name.

Exactly. And for the Kander & Ebb stalwarts in the company, you know that Mr. Ebb is also bittersweetly on their minds and in their hearts. It's got to be extremely emotional.

Ebb's name, along with Peter Stone, is also on the wall, though very small.

It helps to sit close enough that you can see it. It's completely illegible from the back.

Honestly, I was in the third row and didn't notice anything - this was before I read about the names on the board, as it was first preview. There was just too much going on for me to notice anything like that.

There is a lot going on in that show. I give Scott Ellis and Rob Ashford a great deal of credit for keeping them moving so smoothly and not having anyone stand around uselessly, like I've seen so much in musicals with huge casts.

It helps to sit in one of the boxes, which, at the Hirschfeld, are more or less on top of the stage. (I moved from the last row. It makes a BIG difference when it comes to seeing everything!)

I'm seeing it tomorrow! So excited! Does anyone have a song list and know if there is an overture?

I think there is a song list on another thread. There is an overture, and an entr'acte.

It's got a great overture. A REAL overture. Too bad nobody in the audience knows how to appreciate it.

Here is a song list, for anyone wondering:

Act I
Overture (not listed)
Wide Open Spaces
What Kind of Man?
Thinking of Him
The Woman's Dead
Show People
Coffee Shop Nights
In The Same Boat 1
I Miss The Music
Thataway!

Act II
Entr'acte/The Man's Dead (not listed)
He Did It
It's A Business
In The Same Boat 2*
I Miss The Music (reprise)**
Kansasland*
A Tough Act To Follow
In the Same Boat 3
A Tough Act to Follow (reprise)

*listed in a different order in the Playbill
**listed as Thinking of Him (reprise), which I assume was cut.

YAY FOR OVERTURES! The only B'way show I've seen with anything close to an overture was MP, and even though that was only a a small prelude, it totally made me pro-overture.

Can't wait for this cast album! Hope I get to see the show!
I have several names, one is Julian2. I am also The Opps Girl. But cross me, and I become Bitch Dooku!

People talk through the Overture? That's rude, the Overture is as much a part of the show as every line or actual song, IMO. *Sigh*
I really cannot wait for this cast recording, I've been waiting since LA to listen again to Ziemba's "Thinking of Him," Danieley's "I Miss the Music," and all of Monk's solos...not to mention "What Kind of Man?"
