I know tonight was only the second preview, but has anyone else seen this yet? I fell in love with Fiasco's production several years back and was curious to see how I'd respond to the play in a different production. Fortunately, this one is terrific and makes a great case for this play.
It's a funnier production than I'd expected, but it also delivers in the dramatic moments as well. The entire nine person cast is excellent, especially Hamish Linklater doubling as Posthumus and Cloten. He does fine work as the former, but his Cloten is brilliantly funny.
Despite the great cast, tickets for this production didn't seem too hard to come by, likely owing to the unfamiliarity most people have with the title. I was able to get in via standby, and I'm glad I was. It's a fun production of an interesting and rarely done play, and it's very worth seeing.
