This just reminds me of Linda Lavin in THE LYONS.
I wonder why she chose this over the new Mamet piece.

Posted: 6/22/12 at 1:06amI guess I'm in the minority, but I didn't love Laurie in "Long Days"... she was good, just far from great in a very middling rendition of the play. I loved Anthony Page's work on "Virginia Woolf" but his "Long Days" paled to Robert Falls' production. As did Laurie (and I AM a fan) to Vanessa's Mary.

I'm glad to hear that Falco is committing to new work again; prior to her TV fame, all I knew of her work was Side Man; after she achieved celebrity, she did those revivals of 'Night Mother, Frankie and Johnny, and House of Blue Leaves. So I am glad to hear she's working on new roles.
That doesn't change the fact that most "celebrities" choose to play it safe on stage with proven vehicles, rather than take a risk by helping develop new ones. One can certainly understand why, while wishing at the same time that they were more daring.
