DEH Music Box Seating Question

Have a quick question re seating for Dear Evan Hansen at the Music Box Theater. We are planning on seeing a few shows during our upcoming trip to NY, and while normally I always try to get better than average seats, this venue seems to be one where perhaps sitting up higher might be worth the savings? I have 3 choices:

Orch row J seats 2/4 or Mezz row A in the middle (both of these options are the same cost)

OR MAYBE Mezz row H seats 2/4?

If I go with the Mezz row H option I can save $120 that can be put towards another show. Would we miss much sitting in row H at this venue? Or is this the one venue that sitting up higher is still a great seat?

My tickets are for Row A of the left Orchestra. Is that too close?

I would go with mezzanine Row A. Those seats will be terrific.

IMO, there is no bad seat at the Music Box so row H in the mezz would be fine. Of course, mezz row A is better but either way you'll be good.

Thanks neon. And of course agreed, row A mezz would be better. But if you had a choice of pushing back 6 rows and saving enough for a nice dinner before the show, or maybe taking the extra $$ and putting it towards stage seats for Great comet, would you? Sounds like maybe the answer is yes?

From what I've seen, this doesn't seem like a big dancing show. A little hesitant about these seats (was in the 2nd row of the left orch so a little disappointed that's not the same here) but still very excited that I'll be very close.

Posted this in the previews thread, but thought I'd post it here since it's more relevant to this thread

I'm thinking of trying to move from front row orch to front row mezz. How's the leg space in the front row mezz and do you still feel close to the actors? Or would you reccomend moving to row h of the orch because I do like being close?

I thought I would give this a bump and my apologies if this has been covered in another thread, but I've looked and can't find anything.

Consider this a beware if you bought tickets for the Belasco and they've been exchanged for you. When the show transferred and I received the email from Telecharge, I assumed my tickets would be comparable to what I bought in terms of seating chart. What I bought was Row A seat 101 - 102. At the Belasco this is the third row from the stage and is left orch aisle.

What I got is Row A seat 101 - 102. At the Music Box, this is front row and aisle seat right orch. As mentioned in other threads, the stage is really high. We literally could not see their feet - sometimes couldn't see their calves.

I had emailed Telecharge prior to my trip as they had not forwarded any information regarding new seats. They never replied to me. I know I should have called them - I just assumed we'd get the same placement not just the exact Row and seat. It was apples to oranges. When I picked up the tickets at the box office, I did not check the chart. Definitely my fault for not following through...but... really???

Since returning, I've sent an email of complaint to Telecharge and also notified DEH on how the ticket exchange was handled (poorly IMO).

I just wanted to send this out to anyone who also had their tickets exchanged and have not looked at the seating chart of the Music Box to determine your assignment.

Otherwise it was a fantastic show!!

I saw the show on Saturday night and sat in the fourth row of the orchestra, dead center. This was a little too close.

The stage is really high. Sitting in the front row or the orchestra would be way too close - I remember thinking to myself, "those should be lottery seats, like at Hamilton" Even in Row D where I was, it's a bit close - the stage is about eye level at that point, but it's harder to take everything in with all the projections. I think I'd have been happier (though believe me -- I still completely loved the show!!) back several rows - maybe 7th or 8th row.
