"This show deals with suicide and mental illness in a way that no entertainment has done before (more representative than Next to Normal)"
More representative of what and/or whom?

LOL It doesn't matter. They meant well, so whatever they did to me is okay now. I think they even improved my marriage and my family. They can stand in the sun now. Maybe you're just not getting the subtext. If I haven't clearly explained, I certainly implied, so why the questions?

Matt, I'll be blocking you since you clearly seem to be a troll.

Jeeeeeez, "the bitter crowd" (I won't refer to them by the show they're obsessed with cause that seems to anger them) have hijacked this thread. A thread that was necessary BECAUSE they hijack every other form of communication regarding Dear Evan Hansen. If you don't see why this thread was necessary, you know now.
Some of you need to get a life and get off this board. This thread is for DEH fans who want to admire the show and celebration its Tony success.

Please. You were looking for a reaction and you got one. I'm sorry there's not enough passionate DEH fans on this board to speak over those you insult. Better luck next time.

You want some postivty. The album is number 1 on iTunes and rightfully so. I can listen to this soundtrack over and over.

It's #2 now. Maybe the nasty Great Comet fans hacked iTunes.

I love the Great Comet, but their followers are ridiculously annoying. Some of us are fans of both and don't feel like we need to choose.

No one feels like they have to choose. Some like both, some like neither and some like one or the other. But another insult to add to the list.

The upside of liking both is you can pick on the crazy fans and the negative trolls for each show...

My goodness, starting a thread like this is childlike. I'd like to see what you would've done around here when a show was consistently trashed with glee like Women on the Verge. DEH hasn't received an ounce of the venom that show received on here. I was mostly alone on an island until people started appreciating the cast recording, but I didn't need a positivity thread to feel good about supporting the show.

^I always loved Woman on the Verge! It was a hot mess, but I loved it for it. Is it not really loved on here?

Women on the Verge is one of my favorites! I saw both the Broadway and London productions.
A thread that was necessary BECAUSE they hijack every other form of communication regarding Dear Evan Hansen. If you don't see why this thread was necessary, you know now.
There is no such thing as a "necessary" thread. You start a thread demanding only responses and opinions you desire while calling people bitter and nasty. It's an open message board you don't control and you used negativity in an effort to censor responses to your liking. That's not "necessary" and anyone can post their response without your supervision and without your opinion of choice.
Some of you need to get a life and get off this board. This thread is for DEH fans who want to admire the show and celebration its Tony success.
The immaturity of that retort aside, NOBODY should "get off this board" for not doing what you want.

Good Lord, unclench yourself. If I were a troll, I probably would have been banned over a decade ago.

Anybody is free to create a " I hate DEH" thread. Nobody is being censored but sometimes fans don't want to have to constantly battle negativity. All that's being asked is the courtesy to be left alone in one thread to create a positive environment.

It's not a positive environment when insults are being thrown around. How are people not getting this?

This thread is pointless and ridiculous.

Anybody is free to create any thread and respond in any thread.
However if you scroll through these boards, Twitter, or whatever, you'll see a ton of bitter and nasty people trashing Dear Evan Hansen because they wanted their show to do better (it's almost always massive Great Comet fans). Obviously most of us who've seen it love it, that's why it's so successful in all aspects. But as with everything, the negative is louder than the positive.
So I wanted to start this thread for people who are happy. Not for people who say DEH is racist or problematic or white mediocrity or whatever they claim, but for us.
Courtesy to ask? Positive environment? The goal is to exclude particular content and opinions. Negatively drawing attention to negativity in order to provide exclusivity to the like-minded never really works (and it is an effort/request to censor undesired responses). You can participate in healthy discussion, ignore stupid comments you don't like or start your own message board to keep out those you consider riff-raff. But telling people what they should or should not say on BWW (and pretty much any message board on the internet) is never going to turn out well. Especially when you disagree without being "bitter and nasty" or told that your opinion is dismissed as "whatever they claim" under the pretense of being positive.

Sunny11 is totally right here. There's so much crap being talked on Dear Evan Hansen on these boards from haters, so I made a thread for people who loved it to celebrate. If you're not into the show, that's fine, just ignore this thread. I wasn't really into Great Comet but I don't go trolling around other threads trashing it. This was meant to be a place for people to share what DEH meant to them and be joyful that it won a bunch of Tonys, was #1 on iTunes, got a SXM Town Hall, etc.
You don't have to be excited for Dear Evan Hansen like a bunch of us are, but we respectfully ask that you bring your negativity to a thread where that's warranted. This one isn't for you.
