I'm bringing a group of students to Dear Evan Hansen in a few weeks. Can anyone tell me how the stage door is these days? Who comes out on a regular basis? Thanks!!

I think it tacky to take them to the stage door.  Watch and enjoy the show and then give a thunderous ovation if the show meets or exceeds expectations.  Stalking the actors afterwards is inappropriate for a school group in my opinion.

How old are they? That really makes a difference on if you should bring them. I saw DEH and a group of 12 year olds were there and they started chanting “Jared! Jared!” I know they’re young but it was pretty bad and their teacher didn’t stop them.

I think bringing them is fine but please explain how to be respectful before hand!!

The stagedoor is usually about 2 or 3 layers and from near the Music Box enterence to the enterence to the imperial.

They won’t all get their playbills signed unless they’re really good at passing them all up but that should be fine?

If you it’s a small number of students (like 10 or less) then these things don’t apply as much.

Maybe if possible spilt into those who want to stagedoor and those who don’t? Might just make it easier.

Just know you likely won’t get the optimal stagedoor experience.

I rarely stagedoor, yet when I do, I always stand away from the barricades and gathered fans. Instead, I like seeing the big picture.

I do not consider this stalking.

An optimal experience for me is staying outta the way and just being an observer.

Anyway, I hope somebody answers your question about which performers and crew are likely to exit the stagedoor.

Wishing you and your students a great trip to DEH.

Stagedooring is not stalking as long as it’s not obsessive and it is respectful of personal boundaries. The actors can always exit through a different way (as many do) if they want to avoid stage door crowds. Stalking suggests a unwanted behavior that crosses the boundaries of the desired person.

Thank you everyone. If anyone else can give some info on particular actors, that would be great.

This is a group of high school students & I fully expect them to behave well. If they don't, that will not be tolerated by me! A few are big DEH fans and wanted to do the stage door so I thought I would look into it. The idea of splitting into two groups is a good one!

Are you taking them to the stage door without seeing the show?!

He clearly says, “I'm bringing a group of students to Dear Evan Hansen in a few weeks.” I take that to mean they’re seeing the show first.

Recently, Alex Boniello, Sky Lakota-Lynch, and Phoenix Best have been the stage door regulars from what I can tell when I pass the Music Box. I believe Mallory Bechtel has made appearances. I know she stage doored after her first performance. Taylor Trensch is a hit or miss. I have no idea is Lisa Brescia stage doors. Michael Park has been known to show up, but I'm not sure if he's done it as much recently. I don't think JLT stage doors anymore, but I could be wrong. Hope that helps!
