I just read Diner will be getting another regional mounting in Delaware. Did anyone see this at Signature? I only saw a reading/workshop. Just curious on people's thoughts.

Really didn't care for it at Signature. Thought the production was directed and crafted well, but the show itself just bored the life out of me. Cast was insane, though.

Clyde thank you for you childish input. Very unattractive for a 50 plus year old grown up. My 1o year old nephew does things like that.

It is having another out of town at the Delaware Theatre Company. Anyone have the scoop on this show? Casting? Is it ever coming to Broadway?

What the hell does Sheryl Crow care?  Once she heard the overwhelming lack of enthusiasm with her Diner announcement on the Tony Awards a couple of seasons ago she cut bait and became a country performer.  Probably the smart thing to do since Broadway was welcoming her with crossed arms, but hell, even Taylor Swift abandoned country.

They took a movie about the friendship of 6 guys and turned it into a sermon on how bad women had in the 50's. It should have been great. It was a preachy mess.

The show seems to be going in a circle. If I recall correctly, it got mixed reviews. This next production is at a much smaller theater then Sgnature, which may mean nothing or could be very telling. Grisetti and Kantor are no longer available for the next production and they could easily lose more cast members.

As Namo said, this seems to not be gaining speed and enthusiasm. It seems to me that many people just saw this as another musical made from a 30 year old movie that a lot of people forgot.

The people we cat sit for live under Ms Crow. We have heard some of it being worked on through the floor. I liked some of the music.
