DIRTY DANCING Will Launch U.S. National Tour in September

DIRTY DANCING - THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE, the musical based on the Hollywood film that starred Patrick Swayze, will make its U.S. debut in September at Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre.

Performances will begin Sept. 2 as part of the Broadway in Chicago Season series. Casting, additional tour dates and ticket information for the musical's national tour will be announced shortly.

WHY, Broadway in Chicago, WHY?

Also, could the article perhaps mean the Auditorium Theatre? Currently the Cadillac Palace is booked through the end of September with The Color Purple, with Phantom of the Opera beginning there at the end of October.

It'll be in Chicago September 2008, so the theatre will be open.

Everyone here in the UK says "sorry" in advance that you are having to endure this lol.

They need to be careful promoting this and make sure they don't mention the word musical as it's not and they got a slapped wrist for saying that over here.

I'll third that! i saw it in Sydney and was so bored. i hear that its actualy worse in London.

A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

...at least you didnt send us 'Good Vibrations' or 'The Look Of Love' I sat just behind Anne Rienking at a preview of 'TLOL' and she almost burned a book of notes by the end of the show and left rather fast at the curtain looking very unhappy. The show was dead and gone within weeks. And dont even start me on about those bloody surfboards on hydrolics in 'GV'

about three glove puppets and a llama on a stick probably.. ...however Pauls designing so i have high hopes! i almost had a palpitation when i saw BK forked out on a sign...WITH LIGHTS! for cabaret!

How could we loose track of Dirty dancing. If you love click track shows your in for a treat with this one. Very strange watching the company in full routine and the orchestra just sitting there not playing. Please say they didnt repeat this in London.
