Thanks for sharing! Sounds like a wonderful cast!
Just saw that Bebe Neuwirth was added- I missed her when she performed at HA with Don't Quit, so I am excited to see her do it this time around.
Neat! I saw Bebe at HA and enjoyed her very much!
Hmm...I'll already be in the city since I have Chicago tickets for that night and I have off the next day so staying out late won't be an issue. But, the last train home is at 1:41 am and the next isn't until several hours later. I wonder if I could make it. Is "Don't Quit" still a little over an hour long?
I am so excited! I have always loved the show, but now that it's not 6 times a week anymore, it is even more special and enjoyable!
If you have never gone, go check it out! Tomorrow night!
I'm in- Bebe Neuwirth was one of my favorite Musical Madlibs when DQYNJ was at HA, can not wait to see her perform again!

Bebe Neuwirth brought Madlibs to an entirely new level.
Nothing like a good spade to bring out a little comedic racial tension. Jeff Hiller is outrageous.
So I think my new goal in life is to fangirl Jeff Hiller- I've missed him so from the HA days. The spade line was genius, but the "you assume?" and the Jenga bits *killed* me- I love everything 'the tall one' does.
Fyi for anyone who might want to go next month, they announced tonight that February's show is going to be on Thurs Feb 14.
I ended up not going. I was so cold and wet that I just decided to head home after Chicago.
But I'd love to hear more about how the night went from those of you who did go.

"It was at that precise moment that I discovered that my father was a freakin' bitch."
I was practically on the floor.
Sounds like it was a fun night!
It was an absolutely fun night!
Not that I don't usually have fun at DQ, but there is something about the show being back on the once/month schedule, plus the space that is the Zipper, that has just really been working for the past few shows.
Other fun bits I enjoyed last night:
- The Barack opening sketch, complete with the "Barack-ettes," Asmeret getting to be fierce, and Hillary Clinton in Legally Blonde
- The new Overactors Symphony, where instead of emotions the actors have to verbalize shows from choices pulled out of a bag- if only for Bebe Neuwirth's reaction on not knowing "All Shook Up," hee. Oh- and Jeff Hiller being told to give back his gay card because he'd never seen "Grey Gardens," lol.
- Bebe Neuwirth *owning* Musical Madlibs. I saw her do it at HA back in the day, but that was nothing compared to last night, she looked like she was having so much fun with it (and really- getting to watch Bebe Neuwirth singing "All That Jazz," but with lyrics like 'L. Ron Hubbard is gonna blow the ladies' is worth the price of DQ admission alone)
- the director game with Jason Moore from Avenue Q- the emotion is Jenga, make it work.
Ok, stopping now, before I end up just listing the whole show. :) There was no Marc Kudisch, but I barely missed him what with everyone and everything else going on. Functioning at work today off of about three hours of sleep is sooo worth it to catch DQ.
bumping for photos...

Loved the show last night, as always!
Bebe was one of my favorites, not just madlibs but not knowing what my fav show was, oy! But her Elvis "Huh" was great.
The alphabetical scene... Queer you are...Unless...Vag...WAIT! What happened to the other letters??
Jenga, the replay scene in an igloo (community theater never fails to be great), NY2, just everything was fabulous. Looking forward to the next show!
All the pictures look great!

Sounds like a great cast!
Great we hate Valentine's Day edition of DQYNJ last night!
Sara Ramirez rocked the Musical Madlibs, Nicole Bocchi from Mary Poppins doing a scene from August as Violet (complete with Sarah as her daughter, and prop pill bottle) was genius, and I loved the audience participation dating sketch.
Oh- and the 2 Girls 1 Cup interpretive dance opening number? So right and oh so wrong.
Next show is going to be March 27th, I think it was announced last night.
bump for photos...which reminds me, props to whoever worked "McDreamy" into Sara's Madlibs- I laughed.

We had the BEST time. I laughed until my cheeks hurt. I went home with visions of something about masterbating with Reba McEntire and I had nightmares about a seal/fish. I may never be the same. Ugh, I wanted to throw something at whoever yelled "DR. MCDREAMY!" But I did laugh.
JerseyGirl- was that your first DQ? (Just curious.) Yeah McDreamy was totally a cheap laugh, but I did laugh...and getting to hear Sara belt it out like that was just awesome.
