DON’T QUIT YOUR NIGHT JOB is where Broadway goes to let its hair down. The late night happening of improv, music, sketches and stories was created by its stars: industry mainstays Steve Rosen, David Rossmer, Sarah Saltzberg and Dan Lipton.
Proceeds go to benefit Open Doors, the Theatre Development Fund's theatre arts mentoring program for high school students, which was started in 1998 by TDF with playwright Wendy Wasserstein. Its goal is to explore the relevance of theatre in the lives of today's youth.
Tickets for DON’T QUIT YOUR NIGHT JOB are $20.00 and are available now by calling Ovation Tix at 212-352-3101, or online at www.thezipperfactory.com.
For pre-show dinner reservations at The Zipper Factory Tavern, please call 212-695-4600. View the menu online at www.thezipperfactory.com.

I'm definitely going, I will post a review.
Plus there are usually videos on youtube and the DQ myspace page from the shows, so if you miss it live, you can always catch them there.

I can't waaaaait for my first DQYNJ.
Liotte- how early do people start lining up? Also, I called the theatre today- they said the performers usually hang around in the lobby afterward to mingle, sign, etc. is that true?

Idinster87,
I have been to every night job at the Zipper so far.
People usually start lining up for the show around 10:45. This really sucks for me this time, since I will be at City Center until past 11 at Juno. Hopefully, I will still be able to get a close seat when I get there.
Many of the performers stay around to mingle after the show. I have had a better experience after the Night Job shows than at many stage doors. In the past four months, I have met:
Bob Saget
Jamie Lynn Sigler
Mo Rocca
Marc Kudisch
Alicia Witt
John Lloyd Young
Hank Azaria
David Yazbek
Richard Kind
Jimmi Simpson
Melanie Lynskey (There with her husband, Jimmi Simpson. Long story.)
and Sara Ramirez
I'm looking very forward to the hilarity of the show, and hopefully meeting Christopher Sieber, NLB, and Andrea Martin afterwards.

FeelingElectric,
Thanks so might for the response. I am really hoping to meet Sutton Foster, so I hope she hangs around afterward. Also- since I'll probably be getting there around 10:45 (I'm seeing Xanadu beforehand, and I have nothing in between the two shows really), I can try and save a seat for you if you'd like!

All ages are allowed, but there is definitely some swearing and sexual references, so use your own discretion.
I have had a 12 year old with me and she loved it, despite a lot of it not being age appropriate.
They don't open the doors to the actual theater until right before the show starts (11:15-11:20), so no need to rush in. Plus all the seats are good in that theater.

I am SOOOO tempted to say screw it and just drive in, despite the time, this line up is killing me with intrigue!! (hear that Norbie, you may make me break my "I will never drive into NYC" rule! I hope your happy!)
And everyone else should go too cause this is such a funny show, and I can just imagine how much this cast is going to bring to it!!!

Absolutely hysterical tonight! I was literally in tears for so many different parts.
Sutton Foster and Andrea Martin's showbiz showdown relay race, Norbert Leo Butz celeb press conference, Jerry Orbach's eyes (OMG), Broadway Symphony with Chris Seiber's Elphaba scream and Norberts burp, Alex G's madblibs, George Wendt "Sunday in the park with George", foreign film, just so many things tonight!
And a congrats to Sarah Saltzberg on her engagement!!!

Jerry. Orbach's. Eyes. I may still be laughing. And this is what I love about the DQYNJ crowd, as, where do you go from Jerry Orbach's eyes? Well, to "...let Jerry Orbach die, let Helen Keller live" in Bring Him Home madlibs, of course- so wrong it's right.
Always love Norbert Leo Butz- "I am Jesus." And it was fun to see Sutton do something besides madlibs for once! And I don't think I ever realized how *tiny* Andrea Martin is before.
Ok, and can we talk for a second about whatever reality show whatever was filming there tonight? I didn't care enough to find out what was going on, but the taped off seats had an "MTV" on them, so I am guessing it was for some show- MTV, can you bring some girls next time who *won't* spend the entire show texting each other? kthx.

Yeah, I didn't care about the reality show or whatever it was, but the friggin' light on that camera was annoying the piss out of me while we were waiting to get in.
It was too much fun and I was in tears during part. I loved the relay and had missed that Andrea was going to be there, so that was a special treat. Sutton is just so adorable and not at all afraid to look goofy. Loved it. Chris Sieber's Elphaba cry during the Broadway Chorus had me rolling.

I was there last night too!
Anakela, I saw you, but we were sitting on complete opposite ends of the theatre.
Liotte, nice seeing you as always.
JG2, if I knew you were going to be there, I would have looked for you.
I had a blast!
I *loved* Christopher Sieber's Idina impersonation! I was hysterically laughing!
The Sutton/Andrea face-off was fantastic.
And I loved the "Sunday In The Park With George [Wendt]" Opening!
