re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

That's mean of them. Mine went out for lunch in some far-off place and have yet to return. They'd better come back today, I need the car for tomorrow. It's the RSC Open Day, and I'm ABSURDLY excited! I'm going to a couple of talks and the quiz, but I mostly just want to get my paws on the dressing up box, hang out with some friends I've not seen for a while, and stalk actors. :3

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

ooh Weez im jealous! Will Mr Tennant be in attendance? He's deffinitely worth stalking! Ive gotta go and teach snotty nosed 7-11 year olds how to do the simplest choreography in the world tomorrow, which makes your day sound ever more amazing!
Anyway ive decided im gonna be happy now, so far ive been a bit grumpy :)

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

#33

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

#34

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

awh you dont need a G and T to be sophisticated, you do seem quite sophisticated despite your poor choice in alcoholic beverage..*ahem*
#35

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

Lager is a posh mans drink *picks nose*
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

i suppose its slightly more manly than drinking southern comfort and lemonade through a pink curly straw....which im most deffinitely not doing...!
#37

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

The best thing about cocktails and the like is the funky little umbrellas and cute straws!

Going to Les Mis without you? That's an unforgiveable crime!
(I've still never forgiven my mum for saying she would take me to the RAH Chess and then not! Getting me the DVD and CD when they come out *might* get me talking to her again, but only just!)
#38

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

:O Not taking you to Chess at the RAH? Thats frounds for divorce right there..!! Ive seen les mis twice so its not all the important but Chess was a once in a lifetime!

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

See, my mother and I use each other. When I want to go see something at the Watermill, I need her car, so I force her to come with me. And she uses me as an excuse to go see John Barrowman in concert which, I'm sure you can appreciate, is a TERRIBLE hardship for me. re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

I do have to have periodic conversations with my parents though; they've been to New York without me once, and I've forbidden them from doing it again. I mean, I'll happily vanish into the ether and stay at a hostel and leave them alone for the length of the holiday, but they simply MUST take me if they go back again!

... although I suspect that if they want to go without me, they will. ;_;

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

Mum and I are usually theatre buddies - it's amusing how many years of cast recordings blaring from my room next door have rubbed off on her. She's taken to analysing shows that she goes to now from reading my essays too re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

Sam - I know!! If she'd only said "I can't afford it, it's not brilliantly convenient" at the start, I'd have got a cheap overnight megabus, kipped on a mate's couch and found some way to get a ticket out of my student loan. But she said she would, and didn't say anything to the contrary til well after it was sold out! And Josh Groban was in it! {runs off crying}

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

Oh I see that we'll have to have this little Friday thread up every Friday now in the future!
Its Saturday evening already!
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'
#42

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

Not only am I in the house on my own on a Saturday night, but I'm watching a show about one of Girls Aloud, how utterly depressing (Les Mis is involved though...that's my excuse!)
#43

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

Can I just say that this thread, along with most of the posts on this board, restore my faith in humanity and in particular, the theatre goers.

It's so British, and lets face it; rather splendid. Who else would have lengthly discussions about alcohol?
#44

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

I also love how british we're being!
Oooh i sky plused the girls aloud thing..will watch that tomorrow! im also in on a saturday night, i had chinese take-away and a bottle of southern comfort, none of this lager malarky!
ooh mum and dad are back and they mentioned seeing the Hairspray School Musical marquis at one of the theatres...apparently irs a one night only thing, seems like they're going all out on this one!
#45

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

I had a smoked salmon toast cheese thing that is really yummy, and am contemplating a biccy as there are still some teacakes in the cupboard woo!
I skyplussed it too if I'm honest since I was trying to set up my 360 and couldn't give every second of Mis-ness my full attention re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!
I'd kinda like to see this Hairspray thing, but am heading back to my flat tomorrow, maybe see if I can get it skyplussed here and see it whenever I'm back

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

I've seen the Girls Aloud Lez Miz challenge.

*watch out spoilers*

I found it interesting that Kimberly actually has quite a good voice on her, but its never shown in the G.A songs. Granted, it probably wouldn't hold up on stage for very long but it's better than most of the stunt casting that takes place.

I wish her final performance was stronger, but you could tell nerves were hitting her in the face which made it kind of weak. Shame, because she had done much better.

She would make a good Velma in Chicago I feel. She's good enough for that level of performance, but 'On My Own' kind of needs a trained or naturally very musical theatre-y voice behind it.

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

yeh the programme does look quite good, they're doing the live performance as a For One Night Only thing i think, tbh though ill quite happily watch the tv programme, but if im gonna pay money for anything hairspray related, ill just go down to the shaftesbury!
Anything Les Mis of course deservers full attention, even if it does involve Girls Aloud..

And ooh, we have officially made it 3 days now! Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Celebratory drink? re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!
It's funny how I will watch absolutely anything related to a favourite show of mine and how everyone around me is so used to it. I was getting dressed last week when my flatmate yelled at me to come quick. So I run through trying to tug my shirt on and lo and behold, she's not set the flat on fire, We Will Rock You is on telly re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!.
This is possibly a really daft question - but who was the Valjean who introduced OMO in the GA challenge?
#49

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

i havent watched it yet but im guessing if hr was english it was John Owen Jones, if he was American/Canadia, itd be Drew Sarich!
haha my mum does that, ill be in the shower and ill hear screams because shes seen an advert for a musical, or theres an interview with the guy from ____the musical! lol she makes me laugh!

a drink indeed, whats the lasy want?

re: DONTCHA JUST LOVE FRIDAYS!

Well, those were the two most recent I knew of. I saw Drew last time, and I was pretty sure it wasn't him, but it didn't look like or sound much like JOJ either (the last time I saw him on something I remember giggling and going "aww he's so Welsh!" and this guy sounded much more English)but maybe.
(on a side note, I absolutely love Drew, he's such a great singer!)
