I found, by accident channel surfing last night, that The Fearless Vampire Killers was on Turner Classic Movies last night.I naturally taped it & cannot wait to watch it

It: a) is not so good; and b) doesn't exactly cry out for musicalization.

I would love to have seen it. I bet it must be out there somewhere on video or maybe if we are lucky. DVD.

And as much as I agree with you Namo on the fact that some things do not cry out for musicalization we still get some pretty interesting or good things out of it, right? (Or maybe ti is just me....lol)

Well...that was quite the journey from "Fearless Vampire Killers" (comedy) to "Tanz der Vampir" (not so comedy) to DOTV (not so...either one). I still scratch my head as to why they thought this would make a good musical, but I lovd ALL the versions just the same.

You might want to check your library. Our library here in Providence, RI had a copy. Even if your local branch doesn't have one, the libraries for the state are usually linked and if another branch has one they can send it to you! (I got to see Hello Dolly that way before picking up the DVD... oddly enough, the first one I checked out was for blind people... everything was being described by a narrator.)

I will keep a lookout for it & if I see it again I will post the details for everyone. Try going on TCM's website as they generally give you their schedule for the current month plus the next 2 months

I actually bought a copy through some obscure video catalog some years back.

The movie isn't great, but it's pretty funny when it doesn't drag.
