It was pretty good. The choregraphy was amazing, but what would you expect since its Bennets original(as far as I know). The night I went, a few things needed to be cleaned. It was amazing to see Jennifer Holliday and meet her, so I can't really complain. I'm very glad that you enjoyed it!

Wow, they all look rather, umm, long in the tooth.
I saw it and loved it!
However, did you think that Jennifer Holiday lowered the keys in her 3 solos? I sure did.
Brandi was Lorrell, right? If so, she was GREAT!!!!!! She really rounded out the character well, doing an akward giggling laugh at the beginning, to talking to Deena about Jimmy and singing songs about love but not knowing what to do. She was GREAT!!!!!!!

Brandi..was DEFINATELY AMAZING !!!!!
But...I must say that I liked Cindy's version of Deena..awhole lot better than Beyonce's
It would be great if this show went on Tour !!!!

There were comments after the "review" and this one stood out...
"She is the "LION THAT ROARED." Miss Holliday is that rare performer who comes along a few times in a century and leaves an indelible mark on the art. Ethel Merman, Judy Garland and I would say Patti Lapone are the others this century. Sista Audra McDonald may be the next."
Um....mat be the next?!!! I just don't put Ms. Holliday up there with those women. Yes, she sang one of the most iconic songs in Broadway history, but that's it. She really doesn't have much of a "body of work" to her name. granted Patti and Audra aren't on the boards every season, but they have done much more over the years than Ms. Holliday. Just my thoughts.
^^ I certainly agree. Her career pretty much flatlined after DG, not that that says anything about her talent, but still, I wouldn't cateorize her with those people.
I don't even think she has a pleasant sounding voice anymore.
I definately think Jennifer still has the voice...DEFINATELY..but I don agree with what was said...she needs more body of work on stage.
