I'm still trying to snap myself back to reality -- those faux album covers for Deena Jones & The Dreams are genius. The period detail is sheer perfection, from the 60's french heels to the 60's feet positions in the poses. No detail was overlooked.

Everyone back in the early to mid-60's sported needle thin french heels (just look at every film made during this time), and it irks me whenever a film taking place during that period overlooks this small detail. "Hairspray" (the original 1988 version) overlooked this, which bugs me to this day. "Down with Love", "Catch Me If You Can" and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" did their research and notated this in their costuming.

The original HAIRSPRAY was under a tight budget, and they were never too worried about being spot on with minor details.

I mentioned this on the trailer link. If you follow the links and click on "Deena Jones" under "Players," you can hear the new Deena ballad, "Listen."

I also like the loop of Effie's "One Night Only," but it's maddening to only get the opening lines.

ETA: I haven't found the soundtrack listing, but if you keep clicking on "Continue" in the Deena section, there are all sorts of cool things. My favorite are the downloads for wallpapers of the "Dreams" album covers.
