DRG to Reissue Salvation and Three Wishes for Jamie

Not that most people on this site care...but 2 obscure flops from the Angel label are being reissued by DRG on 8/22...

Salvation and Three Wishes for Jamie.

They're also putting out Cabin in the Sky (great recording) earlier that month, and a Kismet studio disc the same day as Salvation and Jamie.

Just thought I'd post for the few of us left who love the past...

I hope they put out Celebration soon, since they have the rights to the Angel discs...

Is the KISMET going to be the studio cast originally on Capitol and later Angel with Gordon MacRae? I would be curious to hear it. I never got either Lp edition and didn't really track it down because there are so many KISMETS out there.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

FrontRow: It's the studio with MacRae.

I love Salvation, but traded the cd forever and a day ago. I've been kicking myself ever since. Glad it is being printed again.

Yeah, there are a few Angel discs I'm waiting for...I assume DRG will get to them all. At one point they had Celebration and Kwamina listed for release, in the insert on one of their other cds, but nothing came of it. I have Kwamina, but I only have Celebration on Lp...grr...I love that score, and don't want to pay 40 bucks to find it'll be issued a few months later.

Also, wasn't A Doll's Life being released again by Original Cast? I've been wanting that disc forever, but never have found it at a good price. I've heard they were putting it back out, but that was quite some time ago.

A Doll's Life has been on my wish list for ages... I can still remember having the LP in my hand back in the day and talking myself out of purchasing it. Dumb...
Excited for Three Wishes... I had a professor in college who talked about it constantly... one of his favorites... Charlotte Rae and John Raitt, right?

I have the cds to all of those and I'm really excited about the reissue, that's fun. I wish they would do more studio/concept cast albums of old shows and random flops that were actually good.

I haven't been getting the DRG reissues of the Angel titles because I have the complete set of Broadway Angel releases.

I wish DRG had gotten the rights to use the wonderful notes that were in each booklet for the Angel CDs. Often the reissues I have seen simply reprint the LP jacket notes.

I've heard wonderful things about THREE WISHES.... Very excited to finally be able to hear it.

I emailed Original Cast Records and they said Doll's Life will be reprinted, but not for 1 or 2 more years. Guess I'll have to fork out the dough and get it on ebay or amazon...
